Товарищ Миронов - основатель первого НПЗ в городе(а их сейчас здесь много, администрация Роснефти также в этом городе) погиб во время аварии на заводе. Как говорят, на предприятии возник пожар, и он, эвакуировав всех, один остался устранять неисправность, чем спас город от сильнейшего взрыва, но самому ему выбраться живым так и не удалось. На площади разливается фонтан, стоят здания дома культуры и администрации города.
