"Что до второй заповеди, то следует сказать, что московиты питают глубокое почтение к имени Бога и произносят его не иначе как с благоговением. Они делают это безмолвно, как немые, и если не находят, то спрашивают: «Нимате пог?», т. е. «У вас нет бога?» И лишь когда им укажут на святого, они делают свой «пуклон», т. е. трижды наклоняют голову и трижды бьют себя в грудь, и еще трижды произносят такие слова: «Господи, помилуй», что означает: «Господь, смилуйся надо мной». Закончив эту церемонию, они приветствуют присутствующих, говоря им «шалом» — древнееврейское слово, коим пользовались древние, означающее «мир да пребудет с вами»."
