День 3. Часть 1.
Еще вечером мы приехали в город Канди. Жильё не забронировано, идём по азимуту. В качестве компаса - наиудобнейшее оффлайн приложение mapsme, которое отлично прокладывает маршруты и указывает расположение отелей, их рейтинг и уровень стоимости на booking'е! Таким макаром мы оказываемся в некой "резиденции", а она оказывается полностью заполнена. Но это Шри-Ланка! "Сэр, какой у вас бюджет, я знаю одно хорошее место," - нас сажают в машину и отвозят в очаровательный гестхауз.
2-местная комната в Clement Dissanayake обходится в 25$ за ночь. Нам достался Барби-рай: розовые стены прекрасно гармонируют с розовым потолком, чудесным дополнением композиции являются розовые полотенца, простыни и романтичные полог от москитов. Ванная комната чистенькая, горячая вода, огромный вентилятор, wifi, общая гостиная и терраса - остаёмся зимовать!
Расположение прекрасное, как ни посмотри. Во-первых, 10 мин до Храма Зуба Будды (мастхэв), 20 мин до автобусной и ж/д станций. Лень ходить и не жалко денег - не проблема! Тук-туков здесь больше, чем людей, и они найдут вас раньше, чем вы этого захотите. Во-вторых, мы просто утопаем в природе! В нашем распоряжении эко-будильник из топота 15 обезьян, утренняя яичница с видом на зелёное всё и десерт на обочине "кокос можете открыть сразу, а ананас я возьму нарезанный". Так что 3-й день безумного путешествия капризный европейский сыч начал с большим энтузиазмом и благодарностью за честных людей и их добрые советы.
А раз всё так хорошо, нужно срочно лезть на гору. Тем более, что до неё всего 3 часа на автобусе: Сигирия или Синхагири, дворец-крепость 5 в.н.э., расположена на вершине 200-метровой скалы. Всё в развалинах и пещерах, сохранились искусственные водоемы, а кое-где и потрясающие наскальные росписи с дамами в стиле "ню". Ходили мы там три дня и три ночи, на вершину пришли довольные и пунцовые, что кстати не помешало местным просить совместные фотографии с белыми чудаками. Осчастливив поклонников селфи, мы свесили ножки, полюбовались зеленой подушкой этой плодородной земли, посчитали Будд и рванули вниз - солнце угрожающе катилось к горизонту.

In the evening we arrived in the city of Kandy. Accommodation is not booked, we go in azimuth. As a compass - the most convenient offline application mapsme, which perfectly paves routes and indicates the location of hotels, their rating and the level of cost on the booking! Thus we find ourselves in a certain "residence", and it turns out to be completely filled. But this is Sri Lanka! "Sir, what is your budget, I know one good place," - they put us in a car and drove us to a charming guesthouse.
The 2-bed room at Clement Dissanayake costs $ 25 per night. We got Barbie Paradise: pink walls harmonize perfectly with the pink ceiling, pink towels, sheets and romantic mosquito curtains are a wonderful complement to the composition. The bathroom is clean, hot water, a huge fan, wifi, a common living room and a terrace - stay for the winter!
The location is beautiful, no matter how you look. First, 10 minutes to the Temple of the Tooth of the Buddha (Masthev), 20 minutes to the bus and train stations. Too lazy to walk and do not mind the money - no problem! There are more tuk-tuk here than people, and they will find you sooner than you want. Secondly, we just drown in nature! We have at our disposal an eco-alarm clock from the tramp of 15 monkeys, morning scrambled eggs overlooking everything green and dessert on the side of the road “you can open the coconut at once, and I will take the pineapple sliced”. So, the naughty European owl started the 3rd day of insane travel with great enthusiasm and gratitude for honest people and their kind advice.
And since everything is so good, you need to urgently climb the mountain. Moreover, it is only 3 hours by bus: Sigiriya or Sinhagiri, the palace-fortress of the 5th century AD, is located on the top of a 200-meter cliff. Everything in the ruins and caves, preserved artificial reservoirs, and in some places and stunning rock paintings with ladies in the style of "nude". We went there for three days and three nights, came to the top satisfied and crimson, which by the way did not stop the locals from asking for joint photos with white cranks. Bringing happiness to selfies, we dangled our legs, admired the green pillow of this fertile land, considered the Buddhas and rushed down - the sun was rolling threateningly towards the horizon.
