Депутат Госдумы от ЕР из комитета по образованию и науке сказал, что Роднина в ответе Поклонской в твиттере высказала общие настроения в парламенте. По данным „Ура.ру“, с Поклонской уже не раз проводили „разъяснительные беседы и в партии, и в аппарате“, но она не меняет свою позицию. Заочный спор Родниной и Поклонской начался, когда последняя опубликовала в твиттере пост с призывом „покаяться“ и ссылкой на фотографии царской семьи. „Пора покаяться, понять, мы предавать уже не можем…“ — написала парламентарий. Ссылка, прикрепленная к этому посту, вела на страницу Поклонской в соцсети „ВКонтакте“. Там было размещено видео, посвященное семье Николая II. В ролике звучит песня Стаса Михайлова „Покаяние“. Роднина с Поклонской не согласилась. „Вообще-то, это он предал Российскую империю и народ“, — так фигуристка прокомментировала ее пост. После этого экс-прокурор Крыма заявила, что ее „уважаемая коллега по Думе выражает мнение тех, кто сто лет назад убил Главу Российского государства“. Роднина в ответ попросила Поклонскую „не путать уважение к традициям и истории нашей Родины с исступленным фанатизмом к личности, признанной самой церковью мучеником, а не святым“.
