Из Искитима через Новосибирск в Москву.
Именно такой путь удалось проделать в XX веке благодаря своей любви к учебе дочке рязанских крестьян, оказавшихся по столыпинской реформе в Сибири. Она родилась в 1931 г. в Красноярске, пошла в первый класс в Игарке на Енисее, где в то время была биржа лесосплава - место работы отца. Потом была война и учеба в Искитиме, Новосибирский медицинский институт и перевод на 4м курсе в Первый мед в Москву, который она, единственная из группы, заканчивает с золотой медалью. А потом ещё несколько лет в Женеве по месту работы мужа в представительстве СССР при ООН, защита кандидатской, работа во Всесоюзном институте акушерства в Москве, в Восточной Германии и многое-многое другое. Но своим самым первым университетом она всегда считала библиотеку Искитимского цементного завода: место, куда приходила в первом классе после уроков и садилась прямо на пол перед огромным шкафом с дореволюционным изданием Брокгауза и Ефрона. Вчера моей бабушке Нине, урожденной Кузьминой, исполнилось 89 лет.
В её судьбе для меня оживают все главные события истории нашей страны в XX веке. Это время, когда дети не умеющих толком читать простых людей могли стать кандидатами наук. Когда любой человек мог радикально поменять свою жизнь только благодаря своим знаниям. И моё главное наследство - тот же трепет перед книжными полками в библиотеке, магазине или в гостях как перед порталом в иную вселенную, который очень надеюсь передать своим детям.
Сейчас нам от рождения даны совсем другие возможности, а мы всё чаще ищем оправдания своей несобранности и размениваемся по мелочам...

From Iskitim via Novosibirsk to Moscow.
It was this path that the daughter of Ryazan peasants who found themselves under the Stolypin reform in Siberia managed to do in the 20th century thanks to their love for learning. She was born in 1931 in Krasnoyarsk, went to first grade in Igarka on the Yenisei, where at that time there was a timber rafting market - her father's place of work. Then there was the war and study in Iskitim, the Novosibirsk Medical Institute and the transfer on the 4th year to the First Med in Moscow, which she, the only one from the group, finishes with a gold medal. And then a few more years in Geneva at the place of her husband's work in the USSR mission to the UN, defense of the candidate's, work at the All-Union Institute of Obstetrics in Moscow, in East Germany, and much, much more. But her very first university she always considered the library of the Iskitim Cement Plant: the place where she came in the first grade after school and sat right on the floor in front of a huge cabinet with a pre-revolutionary edition of Brockhaus and Efron. Yesterday my grandmother Nina, nee Kuzmina, turned 89 years old.
In her fate, all the main events in the history of our country in the 20th century come to life for me. This is the time when the children of ordinary people who cannot really read could become candidates of science. When any person could radically change his life only thanks to his knowledge. And my main legacy is the same awe in front of bookshelves in a library, store or on a visit as in front of a portal to another universe, which I really hope to pass on to my children.
Now we have been given completely different opportunities from birth, and we are increasingly looking for excuses for our lack of assembly and waste our time on trifles ...
