Можно подумать, что кто-то чего-то ожидал иного от нашего гос-ва. Мне кажется, что нам ещё со школьной скамьи вбивали в голову мысль - спасение утопающих, дело рук самих утопающих! Ну, а гос-во молодцом - во всей красе проявляет заботу о своём населении.
You might think that someone expected something different from our state. It seems to me that even from school, the thought was hammered into our heads - the salvation of the drowning, the work of the drowning themselves! Well, and the state is a fine fellow - in all its glory it takes care of its population.
