Более 2.5 миллионов человек приняли участие в волонтерских акциях по уборке в прошлом году
Благодаря усилиям гражданского международного экологического движения «Сделаем!» («Let’s Do It!») в прошлом году в акциях по уборке своих стран приняло участие более 2.5 миллионов человек. Начиная с 2008 года, когда движение стартовало в Эстонии, всего было привлечено около 9 миллионов человек.
Цель движения – предложить решение проблеме несанкционированных мусорных свалок на местном и глобальном уровне как в краткосрочной, так и долгосрочной перспективе путем привлечения большой части общества к участию в однодневных акциях по уборке, обсуждения вопросов экологии с эrспертами, политическими и местными лидерами, чтобы найти более устойчивые и системные решения.
«Наиболее значительные акции по уборке 2013 года прошли на Балканах: Албании, Косово и Болгарии. Греция смогла удвоить количество привлеченных волонтеров и теперь готовится побить собственный рекорд в новом году. С большим успехом прошла уборка в Мексике, в которой приняло участие более 40 000 человек. 7 стран смогли собрать 5% своего населения, а в некоторых странах процент был даже выше. Мы думаем, что такого процента достаточно, чтобы создать устойчивое изменение и изменить модели поведения», - рассказывает Кади Кенк (Kadi Kenk), руководитель региональных координаторов Всемирной уборки «Сделаем!» («Let’s Do It! World Cleanup»).
«Но больше всего счастлива я потому, что акции по уборке смогли вдохнуть новую жизнь в дискуссии о происхождении несанкционированного мусора. Наши команды стали задавать сложные вопросы о том, почему мы столкнулись с проблемой захламления и отравления собственной планеты в ужасающих масштабах. В некоторых странах наше движение впервые дает обществу толчок к объединению и тому, чтобы стать стержнем в решении этой проблемы. Мы действительно быстро набираем обороты, в том числе и в странах в переходный период, таких как Иран, Египет», - добавляет Кади Кенк.
В 2013 году самые большие уборки по количеству привлеченных волонтеров прошли в Швеции (700,000), Болгарии (375,000), Украине (143,000), Румынии (200,000), Албании (147,000), Косово (132,000), Литве (120,000), Латвии (115,000) и Венгрии (100,000). Движение «Сделаем!» (“Let’s Do It!”) зародилось в 2008 году в одной из европейских стран – Эстонии, когда около 50 000 человек смогли за 5 часов убрать 10 000 тонн мусора на обочинах дорог, в лесах и городах по всей стране. Для такого же результата государству потребовались бы три года и 22 500 000 евро вместо одного единственного дня и потраченных 500 000 евро. На сегодняшний день в акциях движения «Сделаем!» («Let’s Do It!») приняло участие около 9 миллионов волонтеров в 110 странах мира.
В феврале 2014 года начнутся новые акции по уборке. 10-11 мая пройдет уникальная Средиземноморская акция по уборке, которая объединит практически все средиземноморские страны и около 1 миллиона волонтеров, чтобы очистить Средиземное море от пластиковых отходов. Good news! Millions of people collect garbage all over the world.
Over 2.5 million people took part in volunteer cleaning campaigns last year
Thanks to the efforts of the “Let's Do It!” International civil environmental movement (“Let’s Do It!”) Last year more than 2.5 million people took part in cleaning campaigns in their countries. Since 2008, when the movement started in Estonia, a total of about 9 million people have been attracted.
The goal of the movement is to propose a solution to the problem of unauthorized landfills at local and global levels both in the short and long term by attracting a large part of society to participate in one-day cleaning campaigns, discussing environmental issues with experts, political and local leaders in order to find more sustainable and system solutions.
“The most significant cleaning campaigns of 2013 took place in the Balkans: Albania, Kosovo and Bulgaria. Greece was able to double the number of volunteers involved and is now preparing to break its own record in the new year. With great success, cleaning was carried out in Mexico, in which more than 40,000 people took part. 7 countries were able to collect 5% of their population, and in some countries the percentage was even higher. We think that such a percentage is enough to create sustainable change and change patterns of behavior, ”says Kadi Kenk, Head of the Do-It-Yourself Cleanup Regional Coordinators at the World Cleaning Service. “But most of all I am happy because the cleaning campaigns were able to breathe new life into the discussion about the origin of unauthorized garbage. Our teams began to ask complex questions about why we were faced with the problem of cluttering and poisoning our own planet on an appalling scale. In some countries, for the first time, our movement gives society an impetus to unite and to become a pivot in solving this problem. We are really rapidly gaining momentum, including in countries in transition, such as Iran, Egypt, ”adds Kadi Kenk.
