В том числе, что значительная часть населения "Русского Шпицбергена" - украинцы. Шахтером из Донбаса легче освоится в местных шахтах, похожих на южноукраинские +, отметил лектор, зарплаты в самой северной русской шахты такие, что даже наши шахтеры ехать туда отказываются.

При этом стоит помнить, что работа на Шпицбергене проходит в шахтах с высоким содержанием метана, люди живут в условиях, когда снег выпадает в сентябре и лежит до мая, семью можно вызвать только при примерном поведении. А сама шахта является стратегическим предприятием, закрыв которое, мы откажемся от своего присутствия в архипелаге, согласно договору. И да, горянков там работает около 100 человек - всего в единственном жилом поселке около 450 человек.
А теперь краткая цитата из декларации о доходах руководства "Треста Арктикуголь", подчиняющегося Министерству Энергетики и руководящего шахтами на Шпицбергене:
