Армянское образовательно чудо. Часть 2. Тумо.
Школа Тумо (названа так потому, что самый первый центр, в котором мы и были, находится на территории парка Туманяна, отсюда и Тумо).
Это школа, котрую мы привыкли называть "дополнительным образованием", в неё дети ходят в свободное время, во второй половине дня и по субботам. Они даже называют себя не школой, а центром креативных технологий. Учится там можно по одному из четырёх направлений: разработка игр, создание фильмов, анимация и веб-дизайн. Рекомендую посмотреть короткие видео в этом посте, там всё очень красиво и понятно показыватеся.
И снова по фактам:
1. Восхищение снова начинается с истории создания. Сэм и Сильва Симонян родились в Бейруте, подростками эмигрировали в США, то есть даже не жили в Армении. Несмотря на это они всегда отмечали тот огромный вклад в их успех, который был сделан армянскими организациями по всему миру и создание невероятной школы Тумо - из дань уважения и знак благодраности. Я до сих пор не могу уместить это в голове.
2. Прсто откройте страничку с попечительским советом, осторожно, пусть яркий свет звёзд вас не ослепит, ведь в его составе: технический директор Uber, создатель визуальных эффектов для “Властелина колец”, продюсер студии “Пиксар”, бывший директор департамента разработки игр Disney Interactive Studios, вокалист группы System of a Down :) И многие другие. Практически все, кстати, армяне по происхождению. Теперь вы можете представить какого уровня люди могут иногда приехать в Тумо провести мастер-класс, например.
3. Я не пишу здесь про то, что внутренняя архитектура была специально создана под школу американским архитектором и про крутейшее техническое обеспечение. Лучше меня об этом скажет Карлос Моедас, член Европейской комиссии (еврокомиссионер), департамент Исследования, Науки и Инноваций: “Техническое обеспечение и среда в Тумо лучше всего того, что я когда-либо видел в Силиконовой долине”
4. Каждый ребёнок учится по индивидуальной образовательной траектории, которая выстраивается для него специальным приложением с помощью механизма, похожего на искуственный интеллект (!). Эта система смотрит на то, как ты справляешься с заданиями и на основе этого в режиме реального времени выстраивает наиболее оптимальную для тебя траекторию. Космос!
5. Если ребёнок учится по направлению "Разработка игр", в определнный момент система отправляет его в специальную комнату играть в игры. А как ещё можно сделать крутую игру, если ты сам не играешь? Та же штука с направлением "Создание фильмов". Когда приходит время, система отправляет ученика в кинозал смотерть запланированный по программе фильм (и кино- и игрозалы находятся внутри школы, а ещё там есть звукозаписывающая студия, оборудованная по последнему слову техники).
6. В школе нет дипломов. И сертификтов тоже нет. То, что получают дети в конце - это "живое портфолио", в котором собраны проекты, которые ребёнок выполнил за время обучения. Кстати, некоторые выпускники потом остаются в Тумо, потому что там же есть и офисы для старпатов, которые там "инкубаторятся".
7. Каждый день через школу проходят 6 000 детей.
8. Всё бесплатно. Всё. Одно из объяснений создателей: дело даже не в философии "образование для всех", а в том, что если сделать обучением платным, это наложит на них огромное административное бремя, разные там бухгалтерии и прочие механизмы, а это всё будет отвлекать Тумо от их главной миссии - социальных изменений. Учится может абсолютно любой ребёнок Армении от 12 до 18 лет, никаких вступительных испытаний также нет.
9. На вопрос а в чём же главная цель школы, директор сказал: "Создать общество уверенных в себе и счастливых людей. И пусть только 5% из них станут работать в сфере технологий, это не важно".

Armenian educational miracle. Part 2. Tumo.
Tumo School (so named because the very first center we were in is located on the territory of Tumanyan Park, hence Tumo).
This is a school that we are accustomed to call "additional education"; children go to it in their free time, in the afternoon and on Saturdays. They even call themselves not a school, but a center of creative technology. You can study there in one of four areas: game development, movie making, animation and web design. I recommend watching short videos in this post, everything is very beautiful and clear there.
And again on the facts:
1. The rapture begins again with the story of creation. Sam and Silva Simonyan were born in Beirut, teenagers emigrated to the United States, that is, they did not even live in Armenia. Despite this, they always noted the enormous contribution to their success that was made by Armenian organizations around the world and the creation of the incredible Tumo School - out of respect and a sign of gratitude. I still can’t fit it in my head.
2. Just open the page with the board of trustees, carefully, let the bright light of the stars not blind you, because it includes: Uber technical director, creator of visual effects for The Lord of the Rings, producer of Pixar studio, former director of the game development department of Disney Interactive Studios, vocalist of the System of a Down :) and many others. 4. Each child learns according to an individual educational path, which is built for him by a special application using a mechanism similar to artificial intelligence (!). This system looks at how you cope with tasks and on the basis of this in real time builds the most optimal trajectory for you. Space!
5. If the child is studying in the direction of "Game Development", at some point the system sends him to a special room to play games. And how else can you make a cool game if you yourself do not play? The same thing with the direction of "making films." When the time comes, the system sends the student to the cinema to watch the film planned for the program (both the cinema and igrozal are inside the school, and there is also a recording studio equipped with the latest technology).
6. There are no diplomas at school. And there are no certificates either. What the children receive at the end is a “living portfolio”, which contains the projects that the child completed during the training. By the way, some graduates then remain in Tumo, because there are also offices for start-ups, which are "incubated" there.
7. Every day, 6,000 children go through the school.
8. Everything is free. All. One of the creators’s explanations: it’s not even the philosophy of “education for all,” but that if education is paid, it will impose a huge administrative burden on them, different accounting departments and other mechanisms, and this will distract Tumo from their main mission - social change. Absolutely any child of Armenia from 12 to 18 years old can study, there are no entrance tests either.
