Раскрыл загадку регулярного исчезновения аватаров и постов в Google+.
В Android есть синхронизация фотографий из аккаунта Google, она включена по умолчанию. Периодически в галерее телефона внезапно появлялись фотографии (как оказалось, из Google+), которые мне там были не нужны, я их удалял (я думал что это какое-то приложение при запуске их туда сваливает, т.к. аватары везде одинаковые).
Синхронизация работала и в обратную сторону: удаленный с телефона файл удалял фотографию с серверов Google. А удаление фотографии на сервере тянуло за собой удаление аватара, и постов, к которым фотография была прикреплена.
В итоге я удалял папочку на телефоне, а сносились по цепочке посты и аватары в вебе.
Толково придумано!
