В прошлую поездку мы случайно прошли мимо здания LucasFilm, и я немедленно поставил себе цель любой ценой попасть внутрь. Перед отъездом мы были во внутреннем магазине для сотрудников (теперь уже Диснея). На этот раз планка была выше. Перед отъездом я обещал что если откажут в визе, то, если понадобится, дойду до Обамы. До Обамы осталось одно рукопожатие.
Накануне мы пытались разобраться как незамужней молодой недавно устроившейся на невысоко оплачиваемую работу, переехавшей из другого города, не имеющей собственности, и путешествующей только в ближайшие пару стран получить визу: vk.com/wall66559_48548
Разумеется в визе отказали, толком не задав подробных вопросов, не дав шансов доказать связи с Россией.
Я узнал про инсайдерский чит, который не раз помогал получить визу в случае отказа. Под читом я не подразумеваю возможность обмануть систему, Саша разумеется не имеет ни малейшего желания эмигрировать (это строчка для NSA, hi guys, how are you), скорее это возможность исправить недостатки системы, случайно отказывающей нормальным людям во въезде. Оказывается в США очень хорошо работает демократия, поэтому чиновники тут не ради мигалки, как Невзоров (fontanka.ru/2013/08/02/126), а типа служат народу. Поэтому любой гражданин США, может обратиться к чиновнику своего округа, представляющего его интересы, с любым запросом, и чиновник, отрабатывая голоса и зарплату, постарается максимально помочь.
У моей мамы здесь живет подруга, так что начали с нее: звонок в офис конгрессмена (что-то типа депутата госдумы от места, где ты живешь). Всего конгрессменов 435. В Думе РФ депутатов 450, т.е. можно представить уровень чиновника. Офис конгрессмена завафлил и сказал что помочь не может, потому что визу не дали правильно — нечем доказать что Саша не останется в США. Но доказать всегда нечем, это не аргумент. Мы решили что нижнее звено (условная секретарша на телефоне) заломало нам помогать, и написали email напрямую конгрессмену. Ответа не было в течение недели.
За эту неделю к нам в акселератор внезапно (фантастически совпало) пришли с визитом два сенатора США. Я как раз собирался обращаться к сенатору, в случае если быстрого ответа от конгрессмена не будет, это следующая по высоте ступень после конгрессмена. А тут они сами пришли прямо в коворкинг. Такой шанс дается один раз: разумеется, я сделал все чтобы добиться минуты внимания сенатора тет-а-тет (выбрать момент было непросто, вокруг камеры и куча людей, на случай полного фэйла у меня была распечатка, которую я хотел сунуть в руки уходящему сенатору). Сенаторов в США всего 100 человек, по 2 от 50 штатов. Можете представить уровень чиновника (это примерно как если выкинуть из Думы РФ всех мудаков, останется человек 100). На фото они стоят в обнимку с Обамой. И тут я такой, с девушкой хочу увидеться (чего только не сделаешь ради секса любви).
В общем, мне сунули визитку личного помощника сенатора. Я ему расписал как я весь такой предприниматель уже второй раз в штатах ради стартапа, разлука суммарно 8 месяцев (это правда), а злой визовый офицер повидаться не дает, в Старбаксе кофе попить. И они передали мое письмо сначала в иммиграционный отдел, а потом, после того как я их немного попинал чтобы успеть к сроку, отправили от имени сенатора официальный запрос консулу в Санкт-Петербурге. Тут есть важный нюанс: я не гражданин США. То есть они совершенно не должны были на меня тратить время и мне помогать. Но помогли, просто так. На таком высоком уровне. Сегодня Саша получила визу.
Самый угар — это само письмо (cohabitant, например). Я расписал все связи Саши с Россией. В том числе, по совету [id45793003|Алексея Шелегова] упомянул двух котов. И это попало в итоговое письмо. Сенатор США написал консулу письмо о том, что Саша по мне скучает и у нее two pet cats, поэтому надо дать визу. Успех, кто ж визу не даст, когда котики дома остались. Чтобы прочитать письмо в нормальном размере, нажмите «Поделиться» -> «Загрузить оригинал на диск», фотка откроется в отдельной вкладке, там ее можно увеличить.
За пару дней до собеседования пришел ответ от конгрессмена — он тоже согласился помочь. Но ему мы уже ответили что помогает сенатор. Напоследок хочу напомнить, что это инсайдерская история, ей не нужно делиться на форумах, но можно иметь в виду для себя и друзей. Если все бросятся использовать этот способ, то он моментально обесценится. Для такой помощи нужно уважительное обоснование (я сыграл на том что я стартапер и у меня компания в США, а у них там как раз виза для стартапов прошла сенат, так что они все в теме визовых проблем для предпринимателей). И обращаться должен житель США, мне просто повезло. Такой способ лучше использовать для бизнес-поездок, не для обычного туризма.
В следующей поездке придумаю еще какой-нибудь челлендж, добиваться сложных целей прикольно.

This week, two US senators suddenly came to our accelerator to visit us (fantastically coincidentally).
