OneDrive закидал предупреждениями что скоро лишит меня бесплатных 100гб, в связи с чем встал вопрос выбора облака. И я решил наконец сравнить скорость разных облаков. Кроме iCloud, он не отвечает моим задачам — облако должно быть универсально доступно, а у iCloud нет приложения под Android.
Ограничения эксперимента: тест из Питера; интернет проводной, но вечером скорость может проседать из-за загрузки канала; номинально 55 мегабит, в реальности измерители показывают порядка 35 мегабит (надо будет разобраться какого фига). Это могло влиять на результаты теста, но все облака были в равных условиях, поэтому относительные величины должны быть релевантны. Я не трогал интернет и никакие программы, маловероятно что фоном качались обновления или что-то такое.
Каждое измерение провел по два раза в разное время. Из двух показаний брал меньшее. Для Dropbox провел по одному тесту, и так было понятно что он медленнее других. Тест с Мэйлом провел три раза, с трудом верилось в такой плохой аплоад. Чтобы колебания скорости не сильно влияли на результат, заливался один большой файл (1.1гб). Upload у всех был через нативные приложения под Windows. Download везде был через веб-версии. Результаты:

Абсолютные лидеры по скорости — Яндекс и Гугл. При этом терабайт у Гугла стоит 700 рублей в месяц, а у Яндекса 2000 в год или 200 в месяц. Похоже, Яндекс.Диск сейчас по всем параметрам лучшее облако. Плюс у них еще и бесплатный безлимит при автоматическом импорте фотографий и видео с телефона. Хотя на мой вкус это сомнительное удобство — автоматически импортировать миллион дублей.
Попутно выяснилось что Мэйл не удаляет файлы из хранилища и переиспользует их на чужих аккаунтах, если в них заливают такой же файл. Возможно остальные тоже не удаляют, но они не палятся в этом так явно, как Мэйл. При этом в Мэйле у меня бесплатный терабайт, так что выбор будет непростой. Но теперь хоть понятно из чего выбирать.
