Царю Соломону в юности было подарено кольцо со словами, что когда ему будет очень трудно ли, грустно ли, страшно ли - пусть вспомнит о кольце и подержит его в руках. Богатства Соломона были не меряны, еще одно кольцо - сильно ли увеличит их?

Как-то раз в царстве Соломона случился неурожай. Возник мор и голод: умирали не только дети и женщины, истощены были даже воины. Царь открыл все свои закрома. Он послал купцов продавать ценности из своей сокровищницы, чтобы купить хлеб и накормить людей. Соломон был в смятении - и вдруг он вспомнил о кольце. Царь достал кольцо, подержал в руках... Ничего не произошло. Вдруг он заметил, что на кольце есть надпись. Что это? Древние знаки.... Соломон знал этот забытый язык. "ВСЕ ПРОХОДИТ", - прочел он.
Прошло много лет... Царь Соломон стал известен как мудрый правитель. Он женился и жил счастливо. Жена стала самым чутким и близким его помощником и советчиком. И вдруг она умерла. Горе и тоска охватили царя. Не веселили его ни танцовщицы и певуньи, ни состязания борцов... Печаль и одиночество. Приближающаяся старость. Как с этим жить? Он взял кольцо: "Все проходит"? Тоска сдавила его сердце. Царь не хотел мириться с этими словами: с досады бросил кольцо, оно покатилось - и на внутренней поверхности что-то мелькнуло. Царь поднял кольцо, подержал в руках. Почему-то раньше он не видел такой надписи: "ПРОЙДЕТ И ЭТО".
Прошло еще много лет. Соломон превратился в древнего старца. Царь понимал, что дни его сочтены и пока есть еще какие-то силы нужно отдать последние распоряжения, успеть со всеми попрощаться, благословить приемников и детей. "Все проходит", "Пройдет и это", - вспомнил он, усмехнулся: вот и все прошло. Теперь царь не расставался с кольцом. Оно уже истерлось, пропали прежние надписи. Слабеющими глазами он заметил: на ребре кольца что-то проступило. Что это, снова какие-то буквы? Царь подставил ребро кольца заходящим лучам солнца - блеснули буквы на грани: "НИЧТО НЕ ПРОХОДИТ" - прочел Соломон...

He took the ring: "Everything passes"? Longing squeezed his heart. The king did not want to put up with these words: he threw the ring out of frustration, it rolled - and something flashed on the inner surface. The king raised the ring, held it in his hands. For some reason, before, he had not seen such an inscription: "THIS WILL Pass."
Many more years have passed. Solomon turned into an ancient elder. The tsar understood that his days were numbered and while there was still some strength, he had to give his last orders, to have time to say goodbye to everyone, to bless the receivers and children. “Everything passes,” “This too will pass,” he recalled, grinned: that’s all gone. Now the king did not part with the ring. It has already worn out, the old inscriptions disappeared. With weak eyes he noticed: something appeared on the edge of the ring. What is it, again some letters? The king framed the edge of the ring to the setting rays of the sun - letters flashed on the verge: “Nothing passes” - read Solomon ...
