Археологи восстановят исторический облик Старой Ладоги

САНКТ-ПЕТЕРБУРГ, 18 декабря. /ТАСС/. Археологи и географы Санкт-Петербурга и Москвы разработали масштабный проект, который позволит восстановить средневековый ландшафт Старой Ладоги. Проект был представлен специалистами Института истории материальной культуры РАН (ИИМК РАН) на проходящей сегодня конференции "Ладога и проблемы древней и средневековой истории Северной Евразии" в Староладожском историко-архитектурном и археологическом музее-заповеднике.
Проект будет реализован Староладожской экспедицией ИИМК РАН и Институтом географии РАН," - рассказал ТАСС директор ИИМК РАН Владимир Лапшин. Цель проекта - "представить древнюю Ладогу в историческом ландшафте", расширить представления о хозяйстве, которое вели люди в этой местности в раннем Средневековье, отметил ученый.
В 2017 году Староладожская экспедиция отметит 45-летие своей работы. "За весь период работы экспедицией сделано около 40 тысяч находок, однако современные возможности Староладожского музея-заповедника позволяют демонстрировать лишь чуть больше 1% из них - сейчас в его экспозиции представлено не более 500 предметов, остальные хранятся в фондах музея и недоступны публике", - сказал Владимир Лапшин.
"В Старой Ладоге нужен новый центр, который объединит выставочный зал и фонды, там же археологи нашей экспедиции могли бы производить реставрацию и первичную обработку находок", - отметил он.
Старая Ладога - один из самых древних населенных пунктов в России. Датой его основания официально считается 753 год, однако новейшие открытия археологов ИИМК РАН позволяют считать, что Ладога была основана ранее.

The project will be implemented by the Staroladozh expedition of the IIMK RAS and the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, "the director of the IIMK RAS Vladimir Lapshin told TASS. Staraya Ladoga is one of the most ancient settlements in Russia. The date of its foundation is officially considered to be the year 753, but the latest discoveries of archaeologists of the IIMK RAS suggest that Ladoga was founded earlier.
