И маленькая сказочка на ночь.
Они появились так давно и их осталось так мало, что даже легенды о них не то, что считаются сказками, а совсем забываются...
Когда Мир был юн, а Творец еще не покинул его, а работал над ним, с ним работали его помощники - их называют по-разному, но мы сойдемся на том, что - ангелы. Когда Бог создал человека и пестовал его, то ангелы возревновали и возроптали. Они, существа из огня и мысли, должны были преклонить колени перед существом из глины-грубой материи! Они всячески старались очернить человека перед лицом Бога, и тогда он сказал: "если вы думаете, что на Земле такой уж Рай, сходите туда сами и убедитесь, что жить там не просто, и человеком быть трудно".
Двести ангелов, под предводительством самого светлого и умного, Азазеля, спустились на гору Хермон и начали жить среди людей. Они вступали в браки с земными женщинами и у них рождались дети. Сами ангелы учили людей искусствам и наукам. Азазель научил прорывать шахты, добывать металлы, драгоценные камни, обучил металлургии, показал, как ковать мечи, щиты, доспехи, строить дома... Помощник Азазеля - Шамхазай, научил людей собирать травы и пользоваться их лечебными свойствами. Бракиэль научил людей наблюдать за звездами и строить астрономические таблицы.
Но дети, рожденные от ангелов, не имели той духовной мощи, что была у ангелов, пусть даже отделившихся от Бога. Бог дал ангелам-отступникам время убедиться в своей ошибке, а затем послал на Землю могучее войско под руководством четырех Светлых ангелов: Михаила, Рафаила, Гавриила и Уриила. Отступники были разбиты, часть из них схвачена и отправлена к так называемым падшим ангелам (в народе именуемых демонами). На Земле остался только Азазель, который стал Серым Ангелом, ибо не принимал участия в битве. Он видел, что совершил ошибку, отделившись от Бога, но не мог пойти против тех ангелов, что пошли за ним на Землю.
Так Азазель стал главой ангелов, которые в той ужасной битве так и не встали ни на сторону Бога, ни на сторону Темных ангелов. Их стали называть Серыми Ангелами. Земля осталась в их ведении, в то время как небо - за Светлыми, а низший мир - за Темными. Азазель, впоследствии, был заключен Богом в недра Земли, но однажды ему удалось вернуться...
Сумерки... Колыбель Изначального... Во Тьме они кажутся Светом, а в Свете - Тьмой. Поэтому, ни Тьма, ни Свет, не принимают Сумерки. Большой груз ложится на плечи тех, кто встает на этот Путь... Имя Серых Ангелов приняло также тайное общество, боровшееся со зверствами инквизиции в Темные Века, одинаково против "зла Черных слуг господа" и "невмешательства, равнодушия Добрых сил".
Задачей Серых Ангелов является вечное поддержание баланса на земле между Светлыми и Тёмными силами, дабы не допустить Битвы. В случае угрозы балансу Серые Ангелы переходят на противоположную чашу весов для борьбы с силами нарушившими этот баланс, дабы восстановить прежнее равновесие...
