Надо признаться – я не люблю фильм "Брат 2". Совсем. До раздражения. Но сейчас не хочу об этом писать. Короче, не люблю. Зато прекрасно помню время, когда этот фильм вышел. И это было время великого оптимизма (хотя новости тогда тоже были те еще). Анекдоты про новых русских все еще были в ходу, но при этом дышалось уже совсем по иному. Была твердая уверенность – трудные времена позади и вот уже мы вступаем в счастливое завтра, в котором у нас все будет. И крутые рок-музыканты и крутые фильмы и евроремонт и стабильность…. И сила будет не у того, у кого деньги и власть, а у того, у кого она должна быть – у кого правда. И, по-моему фильм «Брат 2», абсолютно не типичный для тленного Балабанова – он буквально пронизан неконтролируемым оптимизмом тех лет. И полной свободой самовыражения. И особенно контрастно и остро ощущаешь это, когда смотришь картину в наше время тотального звездеца.
Поэтому, наверное, фестиваль в Ледовом и показался мне не просто приятным рок-сейшеном по хорошему поводу, а очень нужным мероприятием. Хотя бы, чтобы мы могли вспомнить о том, каково это - смотреть в завтра без страха и опасения, что либо смотрим как-то не так, либо завтра будет каким-то не таким.

I must admit - I do not like the movie "Brother 2". Absolutely. To annoyance. But now I do not want to write about it. In short, I do not like. But I perfectly remember the time when this film was released. And it was a time of great optimism (although the news then was also there). Jokes about the new Russians were still in use, but it was breathing quite differently. There was a firm belief - difficult times are behind us and now we are entering a happy tomorrow, in which we will have everything. And cool rock musicians and cool films and European-quality repair and stability .... And the power will not be with the one who has money and power, but with the one who should have it - who has the truth. And, in my opinion, the film "Brother 2", absolutely not typical of the perishable Balabanov, is literally riddled with the uncontrolled optimism of those years. And complete freedom of expression. And you feel this especially contrastingly and sharply when you watch a picture in our time of a total star.
Therefore, probably, the festival in Ice seemed to me not just a pleasant rock session for a good reason, but a very necessary event. At least so that we can remember what it feels like to look at tomorrow without fear and fear that either we are looking somehow wrong, or tomorrow it will be somehow not so.
