Когда были побеждены дети Ипсу, а сам Ипсу был убит, и Ау, сокрытый, начал делать людей, Зи, звезда Севера, был недоволен. Он начал это дело по-своему. Он раскрыл свои крылья и полетел к Северным Горам. Там, взяв не дерево и речную воду, но камень и снег, он стал устраивать людей. Дети Зи были похожи на детей Ау, но они не знали ни усталости, ни сна, ни боли, ни холода. Проснувшись, они начинали учиться у Зи премудрости и сразу приступали к работе.
Они строили башни, находили горный хрусталь, помогали устраивать течение рек, направляли лавины и давали имена подземным озёрам. Они не спали и не ведали, что такое усталость. Так продолжалось семьсот лет, пока Ни, Высокопревознесённый не почувствовал, что на севере нет ни сна, ни чередования, но только лишь работа и учение. Тогда Ни взглянул на север и увидел, что это дети Зи строят башни и возводят стены.
Ни возвысил свой голос и сказал:
— Горе тебе, Зи, зведа севера, что ты нарушил миропорядок! То, что ты сделал, ты сделал плохо. Смотри: они не ведают ни сна, ни усталости, и они трудятся так, что становится страшно от их работы. Вот я смотрю в их души, и их души не такие, как у нас; их сердца никогда не будут петь к нам, потому что они не знают, отчего мы поём. Я уделил песне ото сна, а ты польстился на башни и стены.
Тогда Зи склонился и сказал:
— О, Ни, высокопревознесённый! Не убивай моих детей.
— Я не убью твоих детей, но я заключу их в горный хрусталь, где они будут работать вечно, но их работа не будет ни мне, ни тебе, никому.
Так он и поступил. Говорят, что Зи теперь ждёт конца, когда всё сгорит в последнем огне, и только горный хрусталь не сгорит. Зи ненавидит Ни, и поэтому Ни никогда не бывает в северной части неба.

Когда Кар, сын Вираки, был молод, он всем сердцем желал учиться и знать невидимые ремёсла. Ещё он знал, что никто не знает невидимые ремёсла лучше сынов Зи. Тогда он взмолился к Зи и наложил на себя заклятие, чтобы не спать и не знать усталости.
Зи услышал его мольбу и перенёс его к детям Зи. Семь лет Кар, сын Вираки не спал и только учился и работал. Он узнал премудрость детей Зи и оставался бы и дальше в горном хрустале, но больше не смог. Когда он покинул горный хрусталь, он знал больше, чем все, кто жил в Нитарах. Он пришёл в Нитары и подивил всех тем, что умел. Семь лет он поражал всех людей своими чудесами, а потом сказал:
— Четырнадцать лет я не ел; четырнадцать лет я не спал. Я больше не могу.
Он нашёл старое дерево, открыл его душу, затем сотворил душу его души, так, чтобы даже если найдут его дерево и его срубят, или же оно засохнет, никто бы его не нашёл. When the children of Ipsu were defeated, and Ipsu himself was killed, and Au, hidden, began to make people, Zi, the star of the North, was dissatisfied. He started this business in his own way.
