Владимир Маркин предложил найти запись высадки на Луну и 400 килограмм лунного грунта, который привезли на Землю американцы, в колонке в газете «Известия». «Нет, мы вовсе не утверждаем, что они не летали, а только сняли кино. Но все эти научные или, может, культурные артефакты — достояние человечества, и их бесследная пропажа — наша общая потеря. А расследование покажет», — написал Маркин.
Официальный представитель Следственного комитета России Владимир Маркин усомнился в наличии чувства юмора у директора NASA Чарльза Болдена, который отверг его предложение найти доказательства высадки американцев на Луну.
«Если на полушутливое высказывание американский партнер отвечает на полном серьезе, невольно приходится усомниться либо в их чувстве юмора, либо всерьез задуматься "а был ли мальчик?"» — сказал Маркин в интервью «Интерфаксу».
Маркин уточнил ТАСС, что не ставил под сомнение высадку астронавтов США на Луну. «Единственное, есть сомнения, когда оказывается уничтоженным единственное доказательство в виде оригинала пленки с записью высадки», — сказал представитель СКР.
Маркин отметил, что его удивила реакция директора NASA, который отреагировал только на слова о высадке американцев на Луну. По его словам, это напомнило ему анекдот про Сталина, который предложил всех расстрелять и покрасить Кремль в белый цвет. «А вопрос возник: почему именно в белый цвет?» — сказал Маркин.
«Получается, что по остальным темам <...> у американской стороны вопросов не возникало и они не возражают против того, чтобы провести расследование», — заключил Маркин.
