3 октября выступил на памятной встрече депутатов и защитников Верховного Совета, посвящённой расстрелу Верховного Совета 3-4 октября 1993 г.
4 октября посетил панихиду по погибшим в 1993 году защитникам Верховного Совета, и выступил перед собравшимся на импровизированном митинге.
25 лет прошло с тех трагических событий. 25 лет когда ресурсы и недра, принадлежавшие нации и которые должны были служить её развитию, суверенитету и благополучию перешли в руки горстки людей, далёких от национальных интересов нашего народа и нашей страны.
Неудивительно. Ведь часть руководителей обороны Верховного Совета планировали договориться политически, боясь прибегать к помощи армейских частей, готовые выступить на стороне Совета, но были посланы, грубо и далеко. В борьбе за власть нужно быть готовым идти до конца. Ельцин и его «реформаторы» были готовы и они победили.
