22 декабря 2012 г. в Пекине в Национальном центре исполнительских искусств состоялся необычный концерт. На сцене выступал оркестр «San Gao» («Три высших»), что обозначает статус большинства участников оркестра: члены политической, партийной, интеллектуальной и военной элиты страны. Так, министр иностранных дел Ян Чзечи пел в хоре, Хань Чжэн, секретарь шанхайского парткома, играл на аккордеоне, а тромбонистом был Цзин Хайпэн, первый китайский астронавт, совершивший два орбитальных полёта. Ван Жун, секретарь парткома г. Шэньчжэня (свободная экономическая зона в провинции Гуандун) исполнил роль концертмейстера, а также сольно исполнил на скрипке «Размышление» – отрывок из оперы "Таис” композитора Жюля Массне. Всего в оркестре было 97 музыкантов, а в хоре – 141.
Оркестр был создан в июле-августе 2012 г. В связи с занимаемыми официальными постами и должностями, оркестранты с трудом находили время и возможность собираться на репетиции. Поскольку многие из музыкантов не держали инструменты в руках уже десятилетиями, то заниматься приходилось и днем, и ночью.
Целью данного мероприятия была популяризация классической музыки среди молодежи.
После декабрьского выступления в ближайшее время, к сожалению, концертов больше не ожидается.

On December 22, 2012, an unusual concert was held in Beijing at the National Center for the Performing Arts. The San Gao orchestra (“Three Higher”) performed on stage, which indicates the status of the majority of the orchestra’s members: members of the country's political, party, intellectual and military elites. So, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi sang in the choir, Han Zheng, secretary of the Shanghai party committee, played the accordion, and the trombonist was Jing Haipeng, the first Chinese astronaut to make two orbital flights.
