Дело было уж под вечер - только солнышко взошло.
Зарядил я лук картечью, да и вышел за село.
На горе поймал я лодку, через люк в кабину влез
и уверенной походкой на санях притопал в лес.
Расползлись по норам птицы, но охота удалась -
на блесну взяла лисица, а в капкан попал карась.
Карасище просто чудо - весом метра полтора,
по длине не меньше пуда, мех как будто у бобра.
Я на лук повесил кустик и на травку стоя сел.
Съел я окорок капусты и кочан свинины съел.
Из лисы уху зажарил, борщ испек из карася.
Всё поел, котёл обшарил и голодный поднялся.
Навострил я лыжи к дому, вдруг средь бела дня в ночи
волк по бережку крутому с хвойной липы соскочил.
Залепил я волку в брюхо кулаком пинка тотчас -
он ослеп на оба уха и оглох на левый глаз.
Я взвалил его на плечи и скомандовал - за мной!
Послезавтра в тот же вечер воротился я домой.
