А теперь а propos вашего «человек, защищайся сам». Мне всегда казалось — о чем, впрочем, я писал в «Non serviam» — в высшей степени неуместным обращение к Господу Богу с какими-либо просьбами. Если смотреть с позиции Бога, следует сказать, что для Него весьма неудобно было бы отвечать на какие-либо просьбы чудесами. Потому что, как известно, Господь Бог всесилен и все знает, и мир создал совершенный, и даже пуговица от кальсон ни у кого не может оторваться без Божьей воли. Без нее ничто не происходит. У Сатаны ведь нет созидающей силы. Не знаю, является ли это религиозной догмой, но это часть учения церкви. Как это совместить с нашими просьбами о заступничестве? Нельзя просить ни о чем: ни о здоровье, ни о благополучии, ни о независимости Отечества. Поэтому если бы Господь Бог исправил что-то чудом, это означало бы, что действительность несовершенна. Совершенное состояние — это когда ничего уже исправлять не надо.
Психологически молитва о заступничестве Провидения, несомненно, помогает, потому что человек подает заявление в небесное бюро, и, возможно, оно будет рассмотрено положительно. Однако одновременно это есть акт неверия в совершенство Создания. Если я прошу, чтобы сделали локальную поправку, это значит, что Создание несовершенно. Как это иначе понять? Неверие! В свою очередь, я видел в Италии церковь, в которой можно заказать обедню не только ради чьего-то благополучного выздоровления, удачной операции, успешной сдачи экзамена, но даже за выпадение дождя. Но я не допускаю мысли, чтобы вы набрались смелости пойти к ксендзу, чтобы заказать обедню за благополучную покупку автопокрышек, которых нет в «Polmozbyt». Непоследовательностями такого рода кишит любой нравственный кодекс и любая теодицея. Однако поскольку мы сидим в этом по уши, это значит, что подобные вещи мы не воспринимаем. Если же такие вещи замечают, то их завязывают в один мощный узел и называют Абсурдом. Все, выбросили это из головы.
