Finally, I'm posting a photo from a trip to the European Protistological Congress (ECOP) in Rome. Rome is interesting and original in its own way. Of the obvious pluses: very tasty food (fruits, vegetables, pizza, pasta, seafood) and wine (the latter is also cheap, besides). Of the obvious disadvantages: it is simply impossible to live there in the summer, the humidity is under one hundred percent, and the temperature is under 35 degrees. Unusual new homes: Each apartment has a large balcony with a table where you can dine in the evenings and drink wine, and there are numerous pots of plants around the table. There is very busy traffic on the streets, cars, motorcycles and scooters are rushing around (the latter are very common in Rome), while the sidewalks are often very narrow - two people can hardly separate, or there are none at all, you walk, hugging the side of the road, especially carefully when cornering. The nature is subtropical and it feels very different from the same southern Bohemia: cicadas scream loudly everywhere, which I have not heard in the Czech Republic, large purple carpenter bees are flying. He regretted not taking the exhauster and the net with him.
