Друзья, это будет не пост, а крик. Я сегодня была в, как они это называют, “приюте” для слонов в Пиннавеле. Если вы когда-нибуь приедете на Шри, пожалуйста, не ходите в их приюты, не рвите себе сердце. Если вы ненавидите цирк с животными также сильно, как и я, пропустите этот аттракцион жестокого тюремного насилия и не поощряйте эти издевательства своим рублем и временем. Там даже полугодовалые слонята на цепях, они постоянно пытаются вырваться, прыгая на трех ножках; слонов бьют, на потеху публике заставляют таскать бревна, у них от цепей раны, то тут, то там все время доносится душераздирающий слоновий крик. Наш приют в Найроби просто бутик-отель по сравнению с этим кошмаром. Поверьте, мне есть с чем сравнить и то, что я сегодня увидела - это не приют и не благое дело. Если у слонов есть ад, то он выглядит именно так.
Я буду вам бесконечно признательна, если вы быть может даже опубликуете это у себя и оставите на пару дней, чтобы ваши друзья тоже знали. Может, они тоже поедут на Шри. Пожалуйста, не позволяйте вводить вас и ваших близких в заблуждение. То, как это анонсируют в интернете и во всех туристических путеводителях - неправда!

My friends, this is not a post, this is an outcry. Today I was in the elephant "orphanage" in Pinnawala. The way this place is shown on the Internet and in all the tourist guides - it’s not true! When you come to Sri Lanka, don’t go to their orphanages, don’t break your heart, please. If you hate the circus with animals as much as I do, please miss this cruel attraction of prison violence and don’t encourage this bullying. They keep even six-month-old baby elephants in chains, animals are constantly hopping on their three free legs and trying to escape; elephants are beaten, they are forced to carry logs to the delight of the audience, they have a lot of wounds from their chains, and you can hear their bloodcurdling screams all the time. Our orphanage in Nairobi is just a boutique hotel compared to this nightmare. Believe me, I can compare and what I saw today - was not an orphanage and not a good thing. If there is a hell for elephants it looks that way.
I will be forever grateful to you if you'll publish this info with these hashtags on your IG and leave it for a few days to let your friends and other travellers know this too. Maybe they are going to Sri Lanka or maybe they believe like I do that when you see something unjust, you speak up. Please don’t let these cruel people to mislead you and your loved ones to supporting their abuse.
