Так спонтанно сложилось, что мы не отмечаем ни 14, ни 23 февраля. Своего папу я, конечно, поздравляю (дважды служил в войсках Советской армии), но поздравления в свой адрес воспринимаю приятными сюрпризами. Поясню почему. Особо в историю праздника и выбор даты вдаваться не буду. Расскажу, как говорится, по верхам.
День Советской Армии и Флота (как он назывался до распада СССР) не был ни выходным, ни чисто мужским в отличие от 8 марта. Это был праздник военных (как день пограничника, ВДВ, артиллерии и т.д.), и женщины-военные тоже принимали поздравления.
В конце 60-ых либо обиженные мужчины потребовали справедливости, либо женщины, которых было всегда и везде большинство (наследие ВОВ), сами решили поздравлять всех своих коллег-мужчин независимо от того, служили ли они. А служба в армии тогда была не только почётной, но и не всем доступной (вспомним фильм "Максим Перепелица").
То есть ситуация как с островами в Москве - официально не признано, но народ так решил. А значит и относиться к этой вольности можно по-разному. Я - рядовой запаса и в случае военных действий стану защитником Отечества, но пока я решил, что это не мой праздник.
