Существует огромное число научных исследований такой псевдонауки как астрология. Я ни в коей мере не претендую на полноценное исследование, а заметка моя - это подведение итога крохотного и в общем-то провалившегося эксперимента. Правалился он потому, что выборка очень мала, поставлен он был не корректно, да и слишком было всё очевидно. Кроме того и идея то возникла спонтанно и реализована без подготовки за 15 минут. Тем не менее.... Итак, недавно я разместил у себя в заметках описание личностей людей родившихся под разными знаками зодиака (Соответствует ли описание вашему характеру?). Суть микроэксперимента заключалась в том, что в выбранном мной в Интернете астрологическом описании я нарочно перемешал знаки и описания к ним, так, что ни одно описание не соответсвовало своему знаку.
В общем-то эксперимент был сразу раскушен, потому как немногие люди, знающие мой характер, поверили в то, что я искренне написал фразу "Соотвтетствует ли данное описание вашему характеру? По-моему всё в точку.". Друзья всерьёз озаботились моим здоровьем :).
Эксперимент был практически добит фразой "проверяешь эффект Барнума? :)". Для тех кто не знает, этот эффект как раз и описывает свойство людей верить в обобщённые описания личностей, подходящие почти для всех людей, как если бы эти описания были бы сделаны индивидуально для них.
Если говорить о реакции менее скептически настроенных людей, то в целом, больше половины комментаторов подтвердили правильность гороскопа. Начали "выпендриваться" только рыбы :)), утверждая, что описание не сходится. Объяснений этому может быть множество. Либо астрологический прогноз немного работает, либо люди скептически относятся к прогнозам (для проверки следовало бы подсунуть рыбам их реальное описание), либо рыбы так начитались своих гороскопов, что сравнивают всё с начитанным, либо (поскольку обе тестируемые рыбы били Наташами) влияние имени на характер имеет место быть, и оно сильнее влияния звёзд :)... Это только несколько из возможных объяснений.

Например, можно обратиться к достаточно известной статье Карлсона в журнале Nature (Carlson, 1985). В ней описывается эксперимент проведённый при содействии с лучшими астрологами. По итогам исследования оказалось, что испытуемые люди не смогли наити описание своего хараткера и трёх предложенных вариантов, а астрологи не смогли соотнести результаты психологических тестов, описывающих характеры различных людей с их знаками зодиака.
В любом случае, вы можете верить в астрологию, ведь человек склонен верить в то, во что он хочет верить, а принимать во внимания лишь совпадения, игнарируя несовпадения. Я не могу отрицать того, что звёзды влияют на характер, но могу с 99% уверенностью сказать, что астрологи не доказали, что умеют этим пользоваться. На последок ещё пара вопросов без ответов:
- Куда делся 13-ый знак зодиака (Змееносец)?
- Почему не учитывается прецессия? (ориентация оси вращения Земли меняется со временем, Овны две тысячи лет назад были Рыбами).

For those who do not know, this effect just describes the property of people to believe in generalized descriptions of personalities, suitable for almost all people, as if these descriptions were made individually for them.
If we talk about the reaction of less skeptical people, then in general, more than half of the commentators confirmed the correctness of the horoscope. Only fish started to show off :)), arguing that the description does not fit. There can be many explanations for this. Either the astrological forecast works a little, or people are skeptical about the forecasts (to check, it would be necessary to slip the fish their real description), or the fish have read their horoscopes so much that they compare everything with the well-read, or (since both tested fish beat Natasha) the influence of the name on the character takes place, and it is stronger than the influence of the stars :) ... These are just a few of the possible explanations.
Yet more or less scientifically literate research shows the complete inconsistency of astrology. There are a lot of these studies. For example, you can refer to the well-known article by Carlson in the journal Nature (Carlson, 1985). It describes an experiment carried out with the assistance of the best astrologers. According to the results of the study, it turned out that the tested people could not find a description of their haratker and the three proposed options, and astrologers could not correlate the results of psychological tests describing the characters of various people with their zodiac signs.
In any case, you can believe in astrology, because a person is inclined to believe what he wants to believe, and take into account only coincidences, ignoring discrepancies. I cannot deny that the stars influence character, but I can say with 99% certainty that astrologers have not proven that they know how to use it. Finally, a couple more unanswered questions:
- Where did the 13th zodiac sign (Ophiuchus) go?
- Why is precession not taken into account? (the orientation of the Earth's axis of rotation changes over time; Aries were Pisces two thousand years ago).
