В это время самолет уже кружил над аэропортом. Пытаясь выбраться, командир принялся бить в дверь туалета кулаками. На стук пришел один из пассажиров, которого летчик попросил пройти в кабину и рассказать другим членам экипажа о его злоключении.
Однако сотрудники запертого капитана заподозрили в пассажире, пытавшемся попасть к ним в кабину, потенциального террориста. Второму пилоту к тому же показалось, что пассажир разговаривает с ближневосточным акцентом. О ЧП - таинственном исчезновении командира воздушного судна и попытках подозрительного иностранца прорваться в кабину - он доложил наземным службам.
Диспетчеры порекомендовали срочно заходить на вынужденную посадку, встречать самолет направили полицию и агентов ФБР, из-за ЧП даже успели связаться с истребителями. В этот момент капитан смог, наконец, выбраться из туалета. Добравшись до кабины, он заверил наземные службы, что угрозы для полета нет.
