Самый обычный фильм
При попытке вспомнить, когда в последнее время я видел фильм слабее Кон-Тики, я потерпел неудачу. Во всяком случае, навскидку ничего на ум не пришло. И тем не менее, по-моему, это знаковое кино.
Кон-Тики очень так себе фильм. И дело тут не в том, что актеры плохо играют (они играют хорошо, кое-кто даже очень), оператор тоже молодец, костюмеры постарались очень не плохо, но все это не смогло перекрыть сюжета, вернее его отсутствия.
Честно говоря, в первую минуту был удивлен, увидев норвежские имена в графе – автор сценария и режиссер. Фильм снят по всем канонам Голливуда. Но, если подумать, именно в этом и дело, фильм снят по ВСЕМ КАНОНАМ, вернее он составлен из всех канонов, что скорее говорит о попытке быть большим американцем, чем сами американцы.
Можно было бы закрыть глаза на то, что экранизация невероятно далека от книги, что персонажи не соответствуют прототипам (хотя встает вопрос, зачем тогда было называть фильм Кон-Тики?), но закрыть глаза на то, что сами персонажи отсутствуют как таковые уже сложнее. Перед нами типичный-набор-многогеройного-кино. Капитан, доблестный, несгибаемый, упрямый, но справедливый. Нытик, слишком слабый для великой цели, ставящий своим малодушием под угрозу всю экспедицию. Ветеран, страдающий от кошмаров, и преследующих его духов войны. Безбашенный красавчик с двумя слабостями «Женщины и виски». Друг главного героя, знающий его с детства. Старый морской волк, с насмешкой смотрящий на всех остальных. Ты даже не можешь запомнить их имена, они так и ходят с «табличками» этих своих голливудских масок. Их диалогам не веришь, потому что знаешь их наперед, ведь слышал их уже много раз.
В сущности истории по ходу действия не разворачивается повествование, нет, идет бесконечный набор штампов и типичных сюжетных ходов, добросовестно употребленных там, где их нужно ставить исходя из законов жанра. Они и съели историю, на экране, по сути, учебник того, как ПРАВИЛЬНО снимать приключенческий фильм. А учебники, как правило, необычайно скучны. Все бы ничего, да только этот фильм не провал… вот что грустно. Это обычный фильм, в этом его значение.

In an attempt to remember when recently I saw a movie weaker than Kon-Tiki, I failed. In any case, offhand nothing came to mind. Nevertheless, in my opinion, this is an iconic movie.

An old sea wolf looking at everyone else with a sneer. You can’t even remember their names, they go with the “tablets” of their Hollywood masks. You don’t believe their dialogues, because you know them in advance, because you've heard them many times already.
In the essence of history, the story does not unfold, no, there is an endless set of cliches and typical plot moves, conscientiously used where they need to be set based on the laws of the genre. They ate the story, on the screen, in fact, a tutorial on how to correctly shoot an adventure film. And textbooks are usually unusually boring. Everything would be fine, but this film is not a failure ... that’s sad. This is an ordinary film, in this its significance.
