Как известно, Скандинавия (в широком смысле) является мировым центром хранения данных. Это легко объяснить, дата-центры потребляют чертову прорву электроэнергии для записи информации и еще вагон и маленькую тележку на охлаждение своих систем.
Желая сократить хотя бы половину затрат на электроэнергию (тех, что приходятся именно на охлаждение) Microsoft строит дата-центр в Швеции (https://tass.ru/ekonomika/6491418), тот же Microsoft вместе с Google и Volkswagen активно строятся в Норвегии. Бум строительства Дата-центров виден и в Исландии (https://habr.com/ru/company/kingservers/blog/253847/).
В России с условиями для такого размещения данных хуже, чем в Скандинавии. В Арктике как будто почти нет регионов, где и экстремально холодно, и, с другой стороны, хорошо с электроэнергетикой (ибо дорогой киловатт/час перебивает всю экономию за счет естественного охлаждения...) Хотя, нет, стойте! А как же Мурманская область - вряд ли кто-то скажет, что это НЕ ХОЛОДНЫЙ регион. А что же с электричеством...: Кольская АЭС, несколько ветропарков, каскад Нивских ГЭС, еще несколько ГЭС...
Так почему же Facebook держит информацию в Лулео (https://www.colta.ru/articles/society/20034-gde-zhivet-vash-facebook), городе - побратиме Мурманска, а самому Мурманску, Кандалакше, Апатитам, Полярным зорям (как раз рядом с КАЭС) не перепадает высокотехнологичных рабочих мест, инвестиций и денег, а заодно и бесплатных источников тепла (https://rb.ru/story/scandinavia-datacenters/)?
