На приказ Все-вышнего вернуться в Египет и оповестить сыновей Израиля о наступлении освобождения Мейше ответил: "Так не поверят они мне, и не послушают моего голоса!" Но ведь [еще до этих слов Мейше] Все-вышний дал ему знак [по которому еврейские мудрецы должны были опознать его как Мошиаха]: "Вспомнил я" - [...] слова, которые в предании старейшин Израиля хранились как знак освобождения. Если так, - непонятно, почему Мейше опасался, что евреи не поверят ему.
Мейше полагал, что после 210 лет тяжелейшего египетского изгнания оно стало привычным для народа. Он опасался, что евреи настолько привыкли к жизни в изгнании, что их разум и чувства не смогут воспринять сам факт того, что освобождение действительно наступает.
На это Все-вышний ответил Мейше: "...открывался Я Авроому, Ицхоку и Якову... также услышал Я вопль сыновей Израиля". Другими словами, [Все-вышний заверил Мейше в том, что] сыновья Израиля [по-прежнему] являются потомками праотцов Авроома, Ицхока и Якова, и даже долгое египетское изгнание не смогло победить дух отцов в их сердцах. По причине своего происхождения от праотцов они неспособны привыкнуть к жизни в изгнании, и поэтому в каждый лишний день, прожитый ими в Египте, ощущают тяжесть и остроту изгнания в той же мере, как в день, когда оказались в рабстве.
