06.08.12 День восьмой. Меняю планы на ходу, или Флоренция преподносит сюрприз.
Утро понедельника добрым не бывает! Оказывается, это правило справедливо даже для Флоренции.
Вчерашний праздник жизни вдруг обернулся слегка пасмурным утром – хотя это еще была не самая большая проблема… Наоборот, после вечно яростно палящего Римского солнца это было желанным отдохновением от жары. Но на этом сюрпризы не закончились.
Еще в отеле я узнала, что сегодня почти все места, в которых я хотела бы побывать, закрыты. Пришлось на ходу, сверяясь с десятью разными списками музеев, списками цен на музеи и списками рабочих часов музеев, придумывать себе занятия на день.
Слава богу, хоть Дуомо открыт всегда. Туда и направилась. Но, хоть находится он в двух минутах от моего отеля, попала туда я далеко не так быстро. Дело в том, что на площади Сан-Лоренцо каждое утро разворачивается рынок. Крытое помещение занято продуктовыми лавками, а вся площадь уставлена лотками с сумками, перчатками, шарфиками разнообразных цветов и фасонов, тарелками с лимонами, а также всяческими сувенирами. Вот это был рай для души и смерть для кошелька. Ко всему почему, очень трудно выбрать из моря китайских подделок настоящую вещь. Потратив часа полтора, я решила не выбирать, а оставить это гиблое дело на потом. А потом я узнала, что в магазинах все это безобразие стоит не намного дороже (Saldi! Sconti!), а вот качество вызывает меньше вопросов…))
Долго ли, коротко, но я добралась – таки до Дуомо. Перед ним меня ожидала очередь, которая, впрочем, двигалась очень быстро. Накинув на голые плечи свой шикарный римский шарф, я шагнула внутрь.
Дуомо действительно очень красив, просторен и величествен. И недаром – на момент начала постройки (конец 13 – начало 14 века) он должен был вмещать все население тогдашней Флоренции – 90 тысяч человек. Тянулась стройка, впрочем, долго, и руку к собору приложили несколько талантливых и известных архитекторов – Арнольфо ди Камбьо (сделал первоначальный проект собора), Джотто (построил Кампаниллу), наконец, Бруннелески, который спустя 40 лет возвел над ним купол. Но нынешний фасад Санта-Мария дей Фиоре (что значит Святая Мария Цветочная) приобрел лишь в 19 веке, в бытность Флоренции столицей Италии. Путеводитель гласит, что фасад никого не устроил – а по-моему, он прекрасен! Виртуозный, резной, будто тончайшее кружево покрывает он собор и придает ему действительно цветочную нежность… Облицовка из мрамора трех цветов – белого, зеленого и розового смотрится очень изысканно, а богатое украшение барельефами и скульптурами в нишах только придает шарма. Над центральным входом восседает Мадонна с младенцем, вокруг нее – в нишах стоят апостолы. Над нет – большая красивая резная розетка, напоминающая по форме цветок (изнутри на этом месте витраж), а еще выше – Бог – отец, благословляющий каждого входящего в храм. Правда, сейчас входят туда через другую дверь, и никакого бога над входом нет…)
Изнутри убранство не такое богатое, зато здесь есть бюсты Бруннелески и Джотто, фреска, изображающая Данте с «Божественной комедией» в руках, а еще 2 забавных фрески с всадниками (автор одной – Паоло Учелло, который, судя по всему, очень любил изображать лошадок и не запаривался над натуральностью, а второй – Андреа дель Кастаньо), лошади на которых шагают сразу двумя левыми или двумя правыми ногами…))) Изнутри на главном фасаде висят интересные часы – созданные Учелло еще в далеком 15 веке, они до сих пор ходят, правда, против часовой стрелки…
Кампанилла, построенная Джотто, прекрасно сочетается с изящным фасадом Дуомо – все такая же воздушная и резная, вытянувшаяся вверх – того и гляди взлетит…)) Все 4 стороны ее украшены барельефами, статуями. Нижний ряд одной из сторон, к примеру, несет барельефы, изображающие создание мужчины, женщины, первые занятия человека (земледение, животноводство, ткачество, металлургия). На другой стороне – различные искусства, в том числе, медицина. На третьей – благодетели божественные (вера, надежда, любовь) и главные – умеренность, смелость, сила, терпение.

Yesterday's celebration of life suddenly turned into a slightly overcast morning - although it was not the biggest problem yet ... On the contrary, after the ever-fiercely scorching Roman sun, this was a welcome rest from the heat. But the surprises did not end there.
Back in the hotel, I learned that today almost all the places I would like to visit are closed. It was necessary, on the run, checking with ten different lists of museums, lists of prices for museums and lists of working hours of museums, to invent activities for myself for the day.
Thank God, even though the Duomo is always open. There and went. But, although it is located two minutes from my hotel, I got there not so quickly. The fact is that on the Piazza San Lorenzo every morning the market takes place. The indoor area is occupied by grocery stores, and the entire area is covered with trays with bags, gloves, scarves of various colors and styles, plates with lemons, as well as all kinds of souvenirs. That was heaven for the soul and death for the wallet. Moreover, it is very difficult to choose a real thing from the sea of Chinese fakes. After spending an hour and a half, I decided not to choose, but to leave this bad job for later. And then I learned that in stores all this disgrace is not much more expensive (Saldi! Sconti!), But the quality causes less questions ...))

The Duomo is really very beautiful, spacious and majestic. And not without reason - at the time of the beginning of the construction (the end of the 13th - the beginning of the 14th century), he had to accommodate the entire population of Florence of that time - 90 thousand people. The construction, however, lasted a long time, and several talented and famous architects put their hands to the cathedral - Arnolfo di Cambio (made the original project of the cathedral), Giotto (built Campanilla), and finally Brunneleschi, who 40 years later erected a dome over it. But the current facade of Santa Maria dei Fiore (which means Holy Mary of the Flower) acquired only in the 19th century, when Florence was the capital of Italy. The guide says that the facade did not suit anyone - but in my opinion, it is beautiful! Masterly, carved, as if the thinnest lace he covers the cathedral and gives it a truly floral tenderness ... Facing from marble of three colors - white, green and pink looks very elegant, and rich decoration with bas-reliefs and sculptures in niches only adds charm. Madonna with the baby sits above the central entrance, around her there are apostles standing in niches. There is no big beautiful carved rosette resembling a flower (from the inside there is a stained-glass window), and even higher, God is the father who blesses everyone who enters the temple. True, now they enter there through another door, and there is no god above the entrance ...)
The interior is not so rich, but there are busts of Brunnelski and Giotto, a fresco depicting Dante with the Divine Comedy in his hands, and another 2 funny frescoes with horsemen (the author of one is Paolo Uchello, who, judging by everything, loved to paint horses and not worn out over naturalness, and the second - Andrea del Castaño), the horses on which walk with two left or two right legs at once ...))) Inside the main facade there are an interesting clock - created by Uchello back in the 15th century, they still walk true counterclockwise ...

All its 4 sides are decorated with bas-reliefs, statues. The bottom row of one of the sides, for example, bears bas-reliefs depicting the creation of a man, a woman, the first occupations of a man (farming, animal husbandry, weaving, metallurgy). On the other side are various arts, including medicine. On the third - the benefactors of the divine (faith, hope, love) and the main ones - moderation, courage, strength, patience.
