ЛЕЛЯ— Славянская Богиня любви, молодости, весны, невест и нежных чувств, Берегиня Рода, дочь богини красоты, любви и плодородия Лады. Леля - дух Весны в самом ее начале. Согласно мифам, она была неразрывно связана с весенним возрождением природы, началом полевых работ. Богиню представляли себе юной, красивой, стройной и высокой девушкой.
Молоденькой красивой девицей раннею весной ходит она по проталинам и будит землю ото сна. Где Леля ступит, там зеленеет трава, распускаются листья.
В те времена отмечали особый девичий праздник под названием «Ляльник», - это 22 апреля, или 5 мая по новому календарю. Выбирали самую красивую девушку в поселении, которой доставалась роль богини Лели. Девушку садили на деревянную скамейку, голову её украшали венком из первых весенних цветов. По краям скамьи ставили всевозможные яства, жертвовали Лели полевые цветы и травы. Водили хоровод и пели традиционные песни.
В этот день Мужчины всячески чествуют Женщин. И единственным жертвоприношением в угоду славянской богине любви Леле - является дарение цветов!
