Как только в Токио темнеет, город вспыхивает миллионами вывесок, огней и витрин. Все закоулки скрываются в темноте, а на улицах светло как днем. Конечно, в парках и скверах становится не так интересно гулять, самое время выбираться в районы Акихабара, где царство электроники и манги, район Сибуйи или Синдзюку, где небоскребы и узкие улочки с тысячами заведений заманивают клиентов. В Большом Токио проживают примерно 13 миллионов человек и еще пара миллионов приезжают каждый день на работу. Город никогда не спит, мы гуляли вечерами, устроили вечерний променад длиной почти 10 километров из одной части города в другую и все районы на нашем пути активно бурлили, несмотря на поздние часы. При всем при этом в Токио безопасно. Уровень преступности очень низкий, а основную опасность представляют наверное подвыпившие «белые воротнички». Кстати именно вечером видно насколько много работают люди из офисного сословия. Примерно в 9-10 вечера начинается плавное перетекание клерков с рабочих мест в бары целыми офисами. Японцы очень много пьют и здесь алкоголизм, особенно на почве работы не так порицается обществом. Мы видели десятки групп молодых и не очень людей вываливающихся из баров в середине недели, а на утро плетущихся на работу.

As it gets dark in Tokyo, the city flares up with millions of signage, lights and shop windows. All the nooks lurk in the dark, and the streets are light as day. Of course, it becomes not so interesting to walk in parks and squares, it's time to get to the areas of Akihabara, where the kingdom of electronics and manga, the area of Shibuyi or Shinjuku, where skyscrapers and narrow streets with thousands of establishments lure customers. About 13 million people live in Greater Tokyo, and a couple more millions come to work every day. The city never sleeps, we walked in the evenings, staged an evening promenade almost 10 kilometers long from one part of the city to another, and all the areas on our way were actively seething, despite the late hours. For all that, Tokyo is safe. The crime rate is very low, and the tipsy “white-collar workers” are probably the main danger. By the way, it is in the evening that you can see how much people from the office class work. At about 9-10 pm, the clerks begin to flow smoothly from workplaces to bars with entire offices. The Japanese drink a lot and alcoholism here, especially because of work, is not so condemned by society. We saw dozens of groups of young and not so people falling out of bars in the middle of the week, and in the morning weaving to work.
