Когда говорят об искусственном интеллекте, который вытеснит людей, у меня возникает вопрос о том, как этот интеллект соотносится с метафорами. Интеллект оперирует фактами, гипотезами, использует логику. Может ли он оперировать метафорами? Считаю, что нет, ими оперирует разум. Искусственного разума пока нет и вряд ли он может быть, потому что оперирование метафорами не формализуется.
Хотя можно попробовать. Недавно думал о том, что значит «отзываются струны моей души». Четыре слова и все понятно. Возможно ли формальное объяснение? Оно будет очень длинным. Даже если применить сокращения в через введение аналогий, получится длинно.
Все завертелось с того, что я постоял около фортепиано, сказал слово вполголоса и услышал отзвук струны. Это был эффект резонанса — частота собственных колебаний одной из струн оказалась кратна частоте произнесенного звука и энергия последнего частично перешла в струну. Появился слабый звук.
Очень слабый. Попробуйте нажать на клавишу фортепиано. Есть звук. Теперь слабее. Звук стал тише. Теперь ударьте костяшкой пальца по корпусу фортепиано. Струны отзываются, но еще тише. Теперь ударьте подушечкой пальца. Снова звук струн, еще тише. А теперь скажите «О» вполголоса, чтобы услышать очень слабый звук откликающейся струны.

Такое вот неуклюжее объяснение метафоры. Оно еще использует аналогии, непонятные для машины. Можно ли полностью понятно для машины объяснить метафору? Надо раскрыть каждую аналогию, будет очень длинно.
Допустим, написали длинно. Интеллект все равно не поймет всё. Т.к. раскрытие аналогий пойдет с адресацией к человеческому опыту, недоступному для чистого интеллекта. Как объяснить не имеющему пальцев, что значит "костяшка" и "постучать костяшкой"?
