Намедни, из закрытого бета-теста в ранний доступ вышел новый #Quake. В этот раз он получил не порядковый номер (V), а приставку Champions. Обещают, что скоро на арену можно отправится соверешенно забесплатно, открывая чемпионов по ходу упорных усилий. А пока - есть возможность закупить весь пак бойцов через Steam или магазинчик Bethesda.
И чемпионы, и заявленная бесплатная модель распространения вызывали всё больше вопросы и недоумение. Отбросив весь скепсис, решил опробовать новый Quake самостоятельно, ещё на этапе бета-теста. И он неожиданно оказался очень бодрым. Вся ностальгия, плюс новые фишки, драйв! Чемпионы теперь не просто шкурки игрока. Они различаются не только характеристиками скорость\здоровье\броня, но и специальной способностью. У брутального Ranger - сфера телепортации, у грациозной Nyx - уход в невидимую неуязвимость, а щуплый Anarki - может мгновенно восстановить своё пошатанное здоровье, ускоряясь в неизвестном направлении. Способности более-менее сбалансированы, нет явных фаворитов.
Вовсю проводятся чемпионаты и турниры. Современные стримы позволяют смотреть состязания прямо онлайн. Collerz, Cypher, Agent - те игроки, которые добираются до финала. Забавно, что многие комментаторы по старой памяти называют большой армор - "красным". Хотя в нынешней инкарнации он зелёного цвета. Судя по всему, будет снова годная киберспортивная дисциплина.
В общем и целом, возвращение легендарной игры из пепла состоялось на отлично.
