The National Youth Council of Russia congratulates its friends and colleagues from the World Federation of Democratic Youth with the day of birth of the most representative and massive international association of broad democratic forces of young people! The organization, whose main goal is to unite the youth community in the struggle for peace, democracy, national independence and for the political, social and economic rights defense and interests of young people, started its work on November 10, 1945, in London.
The oath, sounded at the day of the birth of WFDY in London Albertholle holds that: We pledge ourselves to build the unity of youth of the world all races, all colors, all nationalities, all beliefs.
To eliminate all traces of fascism from the earth to build a deep and sincere international friendship among the peoples of the world. To keep a just lasting peace, to eliminate want, frustration and enforced idleness.
We have come to confirm the unity of all youth salute our comrades who have died-and pledge our word that skillful hands, keen brains and young enthusiasm shall never more be wasted in war”
Till these days, the organization remains true to the proclaimed principles and values, making an invaluable contribution to the consolidation of youth all over the world. It was WFDY, organization, which became the founder of the festival movement. We are thankful to the organization for the activities that it carries out, and the assistance and support that helps us to prepare for the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. We wish inexhaustible enthusiasm, new achievements and victories to all members of WFDY!
