Первый номер журнала вышел в Лондоне в 1887 году. В предисловии расписано, чем объясняется такой выбор заглавия: "It is to bring light to the hidden things of darkness. No fitter symbol exists for the proposed work - that of throwing a ray of truth on everything hidden by the darkness of prejudice, by social or religious misconceptions..."
Правда через несколько лет издание всё же переименовали в "Theosophical review")
Традиционно, после рекаталогизации, журнал будет доступен для читателей в залах РНБ)
