Читаю о предвоенных годах в СССР и ужасаюсь. Такое чувство, что верховное руководство страны специально хотело проиграть войну.
- Было репрессировано 50 высших офицеров, их место заняли бывшие лейтенанты.
- В 1939 расформировали танковые корпуса, ставку сделали на... кавалерию.
- Вооружение ведало 3 консерватора, которые боялись нового вида оружия. Они отказывались от автоматов в пользу винтовок. Они тормозили выпуск танков Т-34, столкновения с которыми немецкий генерал Гот приказывал избегать, дабы избежать потерь!
- Было репрессировано 5 (!) глав разведуправления Генерального штаба и 7 начальников ВВС.
- Сталин велел отнять у пограничных солдат патроны и снаряды "во избежание провокаций".
- Склады с оружием, обмундированием, и, главное, топливом, разместили прямо у границы и немцы получили доступ к ним в первые дни войны.
- Был казнен маршал Тухачевский, который, по словам и наших, и немцев был гением современной военной тактики.
- Солдат учили только наступательной тактике. Сложных маневров отступления и обороны не знал ни офицерский корпус, ни простые солдаты. А те, кто считал, что нам когда-нибудь придется отступать, сразу зачислялся во "враги народа".
- Через 11 дней после утверждения плана нападения на СССР этот документ лежал на столе Сталина. Но он сказал, что это происки Англичан. Разведчики, люди, сочувствующие СССР да и официры, не любившие Гитлера слали сотни писем о скорой войне, Сталин называл их паникерами. А попробуй поспорить - мигом окажешься в подвале... Дошло до того, что немецкий посол, выросший в России и верный заветам Бисмарка прямо сказал, что немцы собираются атаковать СССР. Сталин и это назвал дезинформацией. Сам Черчиль писал Сталину, чтобы тот был готов отбить нападение 22 июня, но тот снова назвал это "происки империалистов"...
- Когда началась война, Сталин убежал к себе на дачу.
То, что после этого мы выиграли эту войну - чудо. Только героизм нашего народа смог выстоять под разрушительными ударами по стране невысокого грузина. И проводя параллель с текущим временем, понимаю, что не все так плохо.

- Warehouses with weapons, uniforms, and, most importantly, fuel, were placed right at the border and the Germans gained access to them in the early days of the war.
- Marshal Tukhachevsky was executed, who, according to both our and the Germans, was a genius of modern military tactics.
- The soldier was taught only offensive tactics. Neither the officer corps nor ordinary soldiers knew the difficult retreat and defense maneuvers. And those who believed that someday we would have to retreat, immediately enlisted in the "enemies of the people."
