Посетили прекрасный город -Кадис и фестиваль устриц. Давно я не мог до него добраться, и вот случайно увидел что в эти выходные проводится фестиваль . Кадис - удивительный город - порт, ему более 1000 лет, основан по приданию самим Гераклом.
Сначала тут осели финикийцы, затем римляне, а после них арабы. Однако, только когда городом стали руководить христиане, он стал процветать как центр торговли, а также прослыл международным портом.
Город имеет старую и новую часть. Старый город называется в переводе Ворота Земли. До современности сохранились ворота, которые остались от оборонительной стены города,очень интересен монументальный Кафедральный собор.
Современный собор находится на Кафедральной площади на месте старого, построенного в XIII веке Альфонсо Мудрым, но сгоревшего в 1596 году. Строительство нового собора по проекту архитектора Висенте Асеро продолжалось в 1722—1838 гг.
В Испании этот собор является одним из самых крупных и бесспорно является доминантой города, который видно из каждой точки города. Рядом с собором есть остатки римского театра ,который относится к 4 до н.э
В конце 16 столетия Кадис сильно пострадал, его разграбили, к тому же, была разрушена архитектурная часть, включая Старый Собор.
Но уже в 17 столетии город стал главным портом в стране, именно отсюда Колумб отправлялся в свою вторую экспедицию. Да и многие другие экспедиции к берегам Америки отправлялись из порта Кадиса. В период осаждения армией Наполеона Кадис стал центром политики, здесь же приняли первую конституцию Испании. В целом, город участвовал во всех значимых событиях в истории страны.
