незабываемый и очень интересный город средневековой испании ; почти без изменений он сохранился с XV в. Его называют «городом трех цивилизаций», христианской, арабской и иудейской культур.
ℹ️Mezquita del Cristo de La luz — единственное здание в Толедо, сохранившееся с арабских времен. Она была построена около 999 г., а после завоевания города христианами освящена как христианская церковь. Согласно старинной легенды, в течение 400 лет ( столько продлилось арабское владычество в Толедо) в стене этого здания стоял замурованный Христос с горящим фонарем в руках, сохраняя тем самым христианское учение. В убранстве церкви-мечети надписи арабской вязью соседствуют с вестготскими фресками.
ℹ️Plaza de Zocodover — главная городская площадь, где в Средние века шумел рынок ( с араб. «рыночная»), а позже проходили публичные казни. В XVI в предложили устроить на этом месте большую Plaza Mayor, но католическая церковь была против; поэтому Толедо — один из немногих городов в Испании, где нет Plaza Mayor.
ℹ️Santa iglesia Catedral de Toledo - Здесь находится резиденция главы испанской церкви, первого кардинала. В V-VI вв. на месте собора стояла вестготская церковь, которую арабы превратили в мечеть. После победы христиан над маврами король Альфонсо VIII решил построить в Толедо грандиозный храм. Однако закладка его состоялась лишь через 15 лет, в 1226 г. мечеть была разрушена; строительство готического собора продолжалось почти три столетия.

de Santa Maria la Blanca построили здание в 1180 г. для мечети, затем его выкупили евреи, значительно перестроили и превратили в главную синагогу города. В 1391 г. во время погрома в ней убили нескольких евреев, внутреннее убранство сожгли, а затем бывшую синагогу стали использовать как казарму и дровяной склад. В 1405 г. здание было передано рыцарям ордена Калатравы, которые устроили в нем христианскую церковь. Теперь мечеть-синагога-церковь полностью отреставрирована.
