Сказки прошлого были порой настолько жуткими, полными всяких отвратительных кровавых подробностей – трудно представить, кто мог заснуть после такого чтения на ночь. Сегодня многие из них уже переписаны и облагорожены. А те, что прошли через руки Диснея, обзавелись хорошим концом.
Мы хотим напомнить, какими знакомые с детства сказки были в самом начале, когда только появились на свет.
Крысолов
Самый известный сегодня вариант сказки о Крысолове, в двух словах, таков:
Город Гамельн подвергся нашествию полчища крыс. И тут появился человек с дудочкой и предложил избавить город от грызунов. Жители Гамельна согласились заплатить щедрое вознаграждение, и крысолов выполнил свою часть договора. Когда дело дошло до оплаты – горожане, что называется, «кинули» своего спасителя. И тогда Крысолов решил избавить город от детей тоже!
В более современных версиях, Крысолов заманил детей в пещеру подальше от города и как только жадные горожане расплатились, отправил всех по домам. В оригинале Крысолов завёл детей в реку, и они утонули (кроме одного хромоножки, который отстал от всех).
Красная шапочка
Знакомая всем с детства сказка заканчивается тем, что Красную шапочку и бабушку спасли дровосеки. Оригинальная французская версия (Шарля Перро) была далеко не так мила. Там вместо маленькой девочки фигурирует хорошо воспитанная юная леди, которая спрашивает у волка дорогу к дому бабушки и получает ложные инструкции. Глупая девушка следует советам волка и достаётся ему на обед. И всё. Никаких дровосеков, никакой бабушки – только довольный сытый волк и Красная шапочка, которую он загрыз.
Мораль – не спрашивайте советов у незнакомых.
Русалочка
У Диснея фильм про Русалочку заканчивается пышной свадьбой Ариэль и Эрика, на которой веселятся не только люди, но и морские жители. Но в первой версии, которую написал Ганс Христиан Андерсен, принц женится на совершенно другой принцессе, а убитой горем Русалочке предлагают нож, который она, чтобы спастись, должна вонзить в сердце принца. Вместо этого бедное дитя прыгает в море и умирает, превратившись в морскую пену.
Затем Андерсен слегка смягчил концовку, и Русалочка становилась уже не морской пеной, а «дочерью воздуха», которая ждёт своей очереди, чтобы отправиться на небеса. Но всё равно это был очень печальный конец.
Белоснежка
В наиболее популярной версии сказки о Белоснежке королева просит егеря убить ненавистную падчерицу и принести в качестве доказательства её сердце. Но егерь пожалел бедняжку и вернулся в замок с сердцем кабана.
На этот раз изменения компании Диснея не были такими кардинальными. Всего пара деталей: в оригинале королева велела принести печень и лёгкие Белоснежки – их приготовили и подали на ужин в тот же вечер! И ещё. В первой версии Белоснежка просыпается от того, что по пути во дворец её толкнула лошадь принца – совсем не от волшебного поцелуя. Да – и в версии братьев Гримм сказка заканчивается тем, что королеву заставляют танцевать в раскалённых туфлях, пока та не умирает в страшных мучениях.
Спящая красавица
Все знают, что спящая красавица – это прекрасная принцесса, которая проколола палец веретеном, погрузилась в сон и спала сто лет, пока, наконец, не приехал принц, и не разбудил её поцелуем. Они тут же полюбили друг друга, поженились и жили долго и счастливо.
Оригинал далеко не так мил. Там девушка погрузилась в сон из-за пророчества, а вовсе не из-за проклятия. И разбудил её совсем не поцелуй принца – король, увидев красавицу спящей и беспомощной, насилует бедняжку. Через девять месяцев родилось двое детей (девушка всё ещё спит). Один из детей сосёт палец матери и вытягивает занозу от веретена, из-за которого, как оказалось, она и не могла проснуться. После пробуждения красавица узнаёт, что стала жертвой насилия и матерью двоих детей.
Румпельштильцхен
Эта сказка отличается от остальных тем, что была модифицирована самим автором, который решил нагнать ещё большей жути. В первом варианте злой карлик Румпельштильцхен плетёт для юной девушки золотые нити из сол

The city of Hameln was invaded by a horde of rats. And then a man with a pipe appeared and offered to rid the city of rodents. The inhabitants of Hameln agreed to pay a generous fee, and the Pied Piper fulfilled its part of the contract. When it came to payment, the townspeople, as they say, “threw” their savior. And then the Pied Piper decided to rid the city of children too!
In more modern versions, the Pied Piper lured the children into a cave away from the city and as soon as the greedy townspeople paid, he sent everyone home. In the original, the Pied Piper led the children into the river, and they drowned (except for one lamella, which lagged behind everyone).
Red Riding Hood
Familiar to everyone since childhood, the fairy tale ends with the fact that Little Red Riding Hood and grandmother were saved by woodcutters. The original French version (Charles Perrault) was far from cute. There, instead of a little girl, a well-educated young lady appears, who asks the wolf for the way to her grandmother's house and receives false instructions. The stupid girl follows the advice of the wolf and goes to him for lunch. And that’s it. No lumberjacks, no grandmothers — just a contented, well-fed wolf and Little Red Riding Hood, which he had bitten.
Moral - do not ask strangers for advice.

At Disney, the movie about the Little Mermaid ends with the lush wedding of Ariel and Eric, where not only people have fun, but also the inhabitants of the sea. But in the first version, written by Hans Christian Andersen, the prince will marry a completely different princess, and the heartbroken little Mermaid is offered a knife, which, in order to be saved, she must pierce the prince's heart. Instead, the poor child jumps into the sea and dies, turning into sea foam.
Then Andersen softened the ending a little, and the Little Mermaid was no longer a sea foam, but a “daughter of air”, who was waiting in line to go to heaven. But still it was a very sad end.
Snow White
In the most popular version of the fairy tale about Snow White, the queen asks the huntsman to kill the hated stepdaughter and bring her heart as evidence. But the huntsman took pity on the poor thing and returned to the castle with the heart of a wild boar.
At this time, the changes of the Disney company were not so dramatic. Just a couple of details: in the original, the queen ordered the liver and light Snow White to be brought in - they were cooked and served for dinner that evening! And further. In the first version, Snow White wakes up because the horse of the prince pushed her along the way to the palace - not at all from a magic kiss. Yes - and in the version of the Brothers Grimm, the fairy tale ends with the queen being forced to dance in red-hot shoes until she dies in terrible torment.
sleeping Beauty
Everyone knows that the sleeping beauty is a beautiful princess who pricked her finger with a spindle, fell into a dream and slept a hundred years, until, finally, the prince arrived and woke her with a kiss. They immediately fell in love, got married and lived happily ever after.
The original is far from so sweet. There, the girl fell into a dream because of a prophecy, and not at all because of a curse. And the prince’s kiss didn’t wake her at all - the king, having seen the beauty sleeping and helpless, rapes the poor thing. Nine months later, two children were born (the girl is still sleeping). One of the children sucks the mother’s finger and pulls a splinter from the spindle, because of which, as it turned out, she could not wake up. After awakening, the beauty learns that she has become a victim of violence and the mother of two children.
Rumpelstiltskin
This tale differs from the rest in that it was modified by the author himself, who decided to catch up with even greater horror. In the first version, the evil dwarf Rumpelshtiltskhen weaves for the young girl gold threads of salt
