И вот еще один залежавшийся в голове текст. Прямо таки обзор. В этот раз я решил замахнуться на произведение формата "макси" - семь сезонов под 22 серии (на самом деле нет - в первом сезоне серий всего 12). Как уже могли понять некоторые, я говорю про сериал «Buffy - The Vampyre Slayer».
Но в процессе написания я понял, что текст переваливает за все мыслимые пределы, потому решил для начала сделать краткую выжимку общих впечатлений, а большой последовательный обзор разместить отдельно.
Коротко, насколько это возможно:
У некоторых, наверняка, на тему Баффи есть ностальгические воспоминания. У меня их не было, когда я приступал к просмотру. Я взялся я за него, потому что решил пересмотреть всю фильмографию Джосса "Заставляю женщин страдать" Уидона. И начал с его ранней работы, что бы в процесс выяснить, что именно из Баффи растут корни остального его творчества.
О сюжете: Баффи Саммерс переезжает в мирный городок Саннидейл вместе с матерью, что бы начать свою жизнь с нуля. За плечами у неё сожжение целого школьного спортзала с вампирами (о чем снят фильм ещё до выхода сериала, говорят - плохой, да и актриса на главной роли там другая). Конечно же, она идет в старшую школу и начинает, как любая блондинка, пытаться пробиться наверх школьной иерархии. А с другой стороны она обретает настоящих друзей и с их помощью сражается с потусторонними силами.
О структуре: семь сезонов сериала охватывают семь лет жизни героев, т.е. герои успевают окончить школу, поступить в колледж (те, кто поступает) и так далее. Само внутреннее устройство сезона непримечательно: сериал построен по классической схеме "monster of a day" - каждую серию героя предстоит сражаться с каким-нибудь монстром, побеждать его, что бы в следующей серии встретить нового, а в конце ждет босс, которого нужно будет эпически нагнуть.
Почему же это стоит смотреть? С виду это очень шаблонный сериал, правда, не понятно, какие из этих шаблонов он использовал, а какие породил. Но разбираться с этим не тема обзора, это отдельное большое исследование. И на протяжении первого и части второго сезона даже привычного меня иногда начинало подташнивать от шаблонности. Но сериал умеет держать зрительское внимание благодаря своим героям. Потому что только формат сериала позволяет показать постепенное развитие героев на протяжении длительного времени. То, как они переживают свою силу и свои слабости, как они совершают ошибки, и какие выводы они сделают из своих ошибок через годы.
Увы, качество картинки у Баффи низкое, особенно в первых сезонах – монстры резиновые, боевые сцены поставлены отвратно, спецэффекты… не буду о них. Сюжет так же страдает дырами, ляпами и роялями. Но персонажи искупают всё: у героев действительно отличные выпуклые характеры, они не стесняются когда нужно отходить от картонных шаблонов и актеры отлично играют. К тому же сквозной сюжет сериала посвящен отнюдь не борьбе с монстрами, хотя и тут ружья из первых сезонов выстреливают в последних. В первую очередь Баффи – это подробная, детальная, отлично прописанная история взросления. Со всей грязью, проблемами, новыми ощущениями и бесконечными перспективами этого процесса, а сверхъестественная составляющая является лишь фоном, позволяющим раскрыть основную тему и её составляющие. Сериал поднимает к тому же множество тем, которые, несомненно, волнуют подростков в этом возрасте, причем давая мораль ненавязчиво, в красивой обертке, не тыча этим в лицо. Тема зависимостей, отношений, поиска себя, тяжелых утрат, важных решений и многие другие – всё это есть в сериале. Что отдельно прекрасно – сериал взрослеет вместе со зрителем, раскрывая то, что может стать ему актуально именно сейчас.
Отдельно стоит отметить, что сериал растит не только главную героиню, но и всё окружение вокруг неё. Наблюдать за их изменениями не менее, если не более, интересно, нежели за самой Баффи. Причем касается это не только молодых персонажей, но и, например, Джайлса (Наблюдатель Баффи, типаж – «старый наставник»). Да и само изменение группы, как она реагирует на других персонажей. По сути именно тут оттачивалось умение Уидона работать с группами персонажей, потом проявившееся в «Светлячке» и «Кукольном Доме».
Так же нельзя не поговорить про атмосферу сериала. Поначалу он кажется крайне легким – тема девочки, побеждающей монстров не настраивает на серьезный лад, да в целом первый сезон скорее «теплый ламповый», по крайней мере, по сравнению с дальнейшим. Но чем дальше, тем более мрачным становится сериал. Как будто ты тонешь в пучине отчаяния, отчаянно пытаясь выплыть, хватаясь за каждую светлую соломинку победы, но щупальце обыденности тянет тебя вниз.
