Для тех, кто никогда не сталкивался с капельницей, рассказываю - это процедура длится не меньше двух часов. Это если один препарат. Если два-три препарата - это три-четыре часа.
Капельницу лучше делать на температуре не выше 37,3, когда сосуды ещё гибкие и пластичные. Если ребёнок обезвожен и температура плохо снижается - капельницу поставят на предельной температуре 37,7, но ток жидкости сделают очень-очень медленным, чтобы сосуды не лопнули. Поскольку ток очень медленный - это пять-шесть часов.
Взрослому человеку на капельнице хорошо - немножко потерпеть при установке катетера, а дальше можно лежать и делать что хочешь - слушать музыку, читать, спать. Если капельница на три часа - последний час будете мучиться от невозможности пописать. Если на дольше - поставят мочеприёмник. Главное неудобство - ограничение подвижности и невозможность шевелить рукой с катетером. То есть шевелить можно, это не смертельно - но болезненно, и лучше не шевелить.
Но маленькому ребёнку трудно объяснить, что надо лежать и не шевелиться - особенно когда он под капельницей начнёт оживать и беситься. Ребёнку надо держать ручку с катетером - а иногда держать и самого ребёнка, чтобы не вырывался и не срывал катетер, одновременно надо внимательно следить за капельницей, чтобы давление от шевеления и перемены позы не прерывалось, чтобы ток раствора был равномерным, чтобы не упустить момент, когда закончится препарат и надо будет позвать медсестру переставить другой.
Медсёстры регулярно будут заглядывать и проверять, как у вас дела - но они не могут присутствовать постоянно. Следить за капельницей надо все четыре-шесть часов - держать эту ручку, не отходить, не спать, не отвлекаться. И делать это будете вы.
Поэтому, чтобы не сидеть так без сна всю первую ночь - постарайтесь не затягивать до ночи с вызовом скорой.
