В особо тяжёлых случаях может получиться так, как у меня - укол сделан, а температура не снижается. Ребёнок в плохом состоянии, время уходит, а капельницу на высокой температуре ставить нельзя. Почему нельзя добавить жаропонижающего, сделать ещё укол? Потому что жаропонижающее - это не волшебная пилюля, оно действует не моментально, а через промежуток от сорока минут до двух часов. Если дать вторую дозу - есть риск, что обе подействуют одновременно и опустят температуру ниже критической. Медсёстры велят поить ребёнка, чтобы хоть чуть-чуть разжижить кровь и сбить температуру. Ребёнок отказывается, сопротивляется. Это не потому, что ему не хочется - он не может пить, это симптом обезвоживания. Выдают шприц без иглы и велят поить из шприца, засовывая носик шприца в уголок рта, раз в пять минут. Ребёнок вялый, глубокая ночь, он засыпает, отключается - воду, залитую в уголок рта, он не глотает, она выливается на подушку. Температура не снижается. Тормошишь ребёнка, поднимаешь вертикально, он плачет, голова мотается, разжимаешь ему зубы шприцем, удерживаешь голову, заливаешь воду, он вырывается, давится, булькает. В одном шприце всего 5 мл жидкости - сколько такими гомеопатическими порциями вы сможете в него залить? Я смогла 130 мл за ночь, без учёта пролитого - и сёстры сказали, что это очень, очень хорошо.
Через два часа температура так и не упала, приняли решение давать вторую дозу жаропонижающего - а мне сказали продолжать поить и мерить температуру каждые 20 минут. Сёстры не спали, заглядывали ко мне каждые полчаса - сколько? Наверное, ещё час температура держалась, потом всё-таки пошла вниз - 38.1 вместо 38,4 - нет, опять 38,1 - о, ура, 38.0! Позвали врача - нет, нельзя ставить на 38, надо 37,7, поите, меряйте. К шести утра немыслимыми усилиями она опустилась-таки на эти семь делений - и мы пошли на капельницу.
