Sudety MTB Challenge: четвертый этап

58,7 км и 1919 м набора высоты
Четвёртый этап — предпоследний. Ты уже почти предвкушаешь конец многодневки, но на самом деле ещё пахать и пахать, особенно когда королевский этап — последний.
Он дался мне хорошо. Я хорошо ехала вниз: соседи по дистанции постоянно уступали мне траекторию. Я была приятно поражена: вот несусь вниз по промоине с камнями, догоняю гонщика и сажусь на хвост. Он едет медленно, но слышит, с каким грохотом я его догнала, поэтому на очередном удобном повороте спуска останавливается, отходит в сторону и уступает мне удобную траекторию по этой промоине. Конечно, будь я на подвесе, можно было бы и прямо по камням обгонять, но я же мать и на хардтейле и потому не рискую. На ровном спуске с сыпухой два поляка, которые влёгкую обгоняют меня на подъёмах, останавливаются и дают мне дальше наяривать вниз, а не сидеть за ними. Огромное спасибо всем, кто меня пропускал, зная, как медленно потом я потащусь наверх! Чаще дома пропускаю я при округлении и теперь понимаю, как это ценно, когда тебе дают дорогу.
Тем интереснее, что в сезонах 2014–2015 годов на финских гонках все было наоборот: финны неслись вниз, как угорелые, прошивая меня, словно стоячую, зато после я обходила их на подъёмах. «Страва» говорит, что моя нынешняя форма точно лучше, чем в 2014 году и похожа на ту, что была в 2015 (до вторых родов и когда я ещё тренировалась), из чего можно сделать вывод, что с тех пор я стала лучше ехать вниз.
На одном из подъемов я увидела надпись на велошортах впереди идущего: [что-то].cat. И хоть прежде я никогда не встречала этого домена, я догадалась, что он каталонский, и сказала (перевожу на русский):
— О, Каталония!
На что незамедлительно получила преисполненный революционерства ответ:
— Свободу Каталонии!
Ближе к концу этапа в одной из деревушек стояли дети и протягивали нам руки, чтобы мы провели своей рукой по их рукам, прямо как всамделишные профики на чемпионате мира. Незабываемое чувство! Вообще поражает, насколько нам здесь рады: почти все, кто попадается в горах на прогулках и хайкинге, отходят в сторону, уступая дорогу, здороваются, подбадривают и кричат «Браво!»

The fourth stage is the penultimate one. You are almost looking forward to the end of the many days, but actually you still have to plow and plow, especially when the royal stage is the last.

He drives slowly, but hears how loudly I caught up with him, so at the next convenient bend of the descent he stops, steps aside and gives me a convenient trajectory along this ravine. Of course, if I were on a suspension, it would be possible to overtake directly on the stones, but I am a mother on a hardtail and therefore do not risk it. On a level descent with loose powder, two Poles, who overtake me lightly on the ups, stop and let me continue to push down instead of sitting behind them. Many thanks to everyone who let me through, knowing how slowly then I will trudge upstairs! More often than not, I skip at home when rounding and now I understand how valuable it is when you are given the way.
It is all the more interesting because in the 2014–2015 seasons, everything was the other way around at the Finnish races: the Finns were rushing down like crazy, stitching me as if standing up, but after that I went around them on the uphill. Strava says that my current form is definitely better than in 2014 and similar to the one in 2015 (before the second birth and when I was still training), from which we can conclude that since then I began to ride better way down.
On one of the climbs I saw an inscription on cycling shorts in front of the going: [something] .cat. And although I had never met this domain before, I guessed that it was Catalan and said (translate into Russian):
- Oh, Catalonia!
To which she immediately received a response filled with revolutionism:
- Freedom of Catalonia!
Toward the end of the stage, children stood in one of the villages and held out their hands to us, so that we could run our hands through their hands, just like all-out smart professionals at the World Cup. An unforgettable feeling! In general, it is amazing how happy we are here: almost everyone who comes across in the mountains for walks and hikes steps aside, giving way, greeting, cheering and shouting “Bravo!”
