Омытые, щедро одаренные Единым Духом, чувствуя, что это – только часть полученных ими духовных подарков от Господа, они держали друг друга за руки, образуя новую сияющую светлую Церковь, где незримо присутствует Сам Бог, отражаясь и действуя в душах. Возлюбленные дети Господни, соединенные с Ним Святым Духом, они вышли из стен Сионской горницы, чтобы бесстрашно проповедовать Христово учение о любви.
В память об этом событии праздник Пятидесятницы называется еще днем сошествия Святого Духа, а так же днем Святой Троицы: в явлении Святого Духа, исшедшего от Бога-Отца по обещанию Бога-Сына, раскрылось таинство единства Святой Троицы. Название же Пятидесятницы день этот получил не только в память древнего праздника, но и потому, что это событие пришлось на пятидесятый день после христианской Пасхи. Как Пасха Христова заменила собой древний иудейский праздник, так и Пятидесятница положила основание Церкви Христовой как союзу в Духе на земле.
