Тут все смеются над новой англоязычной озвучкой в питерском метро. Мол, теперь иностранцы будут знать что приезжают не только на станцию "Гостиный двор" но и на "Gostiniy dvor". Типа хахаха, озвучили точно так же, только с акцентом, во тупыыыые.
А я вот вернулся из Китая, где я пользовался в метро их англоязычной озвучкой, и внезапно могу сказать что это норм.
Во-первых самое важное это не про Gostiniy dvor, а про то что дальше говорится что transfer to Nevskii prospect line 2. Имея информацию о станциях пересадки и схему метро, пусть даже на незнакомом языке, уже неплохо можно ориентироваться.
Во-вторых иностранцу трудно вычленить название станции из потока речи на чужом языке. Сле-ду-ю-ща-я-стан-ци-я-го-стин-ый-дво-ор - что из этого название станции, а что просто слова на незнакомом языке - непонятно (конечно после пары поездок можно вычленить одинаковое начало фразы и понять что оно значит, но это требует тренировки). А вот фраза "Next station is..." однозначно настраивает на то, что дальше будет название станции, фокусирует на нем, и позволяет его разобрать и сопоставить со схемой.
Так что все правильно делают.
