6 августа в восемь часов пятнадцать минут утра, на высоте 576 метров над городом сработало взрывное устройство. Взрывчатым веществом был орудийный порох, обычный орудийный порох которым разгоняют снаряды корабельных орудий, но на этот раз снаряд был очень необычный, он был выполнен из карбид вольфрамовой подложки, на которой вместо обтекателя, крепилась трубка из 38 килограмм очень дорогого и чистого урана, а мишенью был другой урановый цилиндр, идеально помещавшийся в эту трубку при попадании. Ужасно дорогой и редкий даже по меркам вселенной материал, возникающий в исключительных процессах на закате эволюции крупных звезд.
В момент соединения мишени и снаряда от сильного сжатия вещество инициатор реакции усилило излучение нейтронов, нейтроны очень здорово разрушают этот дорогой и редкий уран. порождая энергию и новые нейтроны для продолжения реакции.
