На сайте народного финансирования проектов Kickstarter открылся сбор денег на создание квеста Dreamfall Chapters, который станет продолжением предыдущих хитов: The Longest Journey, вышедшей в 1999 году, и оригинальной Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, релиз которой состоялся в 2006 году. Стоимость фанатской мечты составляет 850 000 долларов.
В качестве главной героини игры выбрана уже знакомая по последней части серии Зои Кастильо. По ходу развития сюжета девушке в очередной раз предстоит отправиться в захватывающее путешествие по параллельным мирам: фэнтезийным ландшафтам магической Аркадии и мрачной киберпанк-вселенной будущего. Помимо Зои под управлением геймеров окажутся еще два персонажа, но их личности пока не раскрыты. Кроме того, разработчики обещают, что квест получит глубокий и продуманный сюжет, а также интерактивный и живой окружающий мир, который будет чутко реагировать на действия игрока. Хочется верить, что у них получится, особенно если оглядываться на оригинальную Dreamfall.
Развитием проекта занимается студия Red Thread Games, получившая лицензию на создание сиквела от компании Funcom – разработчика первых двух частей. К слову, Red Thread Games является дочерней студией Funcom, так что за качество финального продукта можно, наверное, и не переживать. С большой вероятностью Dreamfall Chapters будет на таком же высоком уровне, как и предыдущие проекты серии. Что касается сроков выхода игры – ждать придется долго. Если запущенная кампания по сбору средств окажется успешной, игра увидит свет только в ноябре 2014 года.
