Лондон интересный город. Потому что это не город =) Это много деревушек, городков и городов, сросшихся с друг другом со временем. Даже административно Лондон – это регион, а не город. Самое забавное, что деление на разные города сохранилось до сих пор. Хоть это и условно, но в центре часто можно встретить пограничные столбы, которые означают, например, что тут City of Westminster City, а тут City of London (ныне известно как район City). Иногда даже в почтовых адресах не пишут London, а пишут Westminster, улица такая-то. В Лондоне поэтому нет городских окраин, он не заканчивается, он плавно переходит в ландшафт. Просто постепенно деревушки становятся все дальше друг от друга, все больше между ними появляется парков и полей, все меньше они сами… Город просто постепенно редеет.
